A few little rants.

1. My grandmother IL is in no way happy about seeing her first great grandbaby. Any time anyone there asked her if she was excited she would half-smile and say "Oh sure." There are people in this world who would love to see their GRAND KIDS, never mind GREAT GRANDKIDS! You're a b!tch and if you keep it up you will never actually see her.

 

 2. My FIL has all these ideas about what a good parent is and some of them contradict greatly with what I believe. He thinks anyone who uses a pacify is a lazy jerk who doesn't care about their baby. He thinks giving kids candy is totally ok becuase he grew up on it and he's fine. I think that a little bit sometimes is ok but he said he's going to have an enitre closet full of snack for them. And no, I don't think that a kid needs soda. MY child WILL NOT drink soda until they are at least 10 years old, if not older. There is no need for it.

 

3. My mom thinks I suck becuase I'm going to be working from home 3x a week and I'm going to have a nanny  so I can get my work done. "Oh, you're going to be one of those mother's who is home but can't watch your baby? You can figure it out Shawna. There is no reason you need a nanny." OH REALLY?! How about the fact that 1/2 my job requires me talking on the phone. How the hell am I supposed to call people with an infant squalling in my ear?!

    Dont you hate over opinionated family? When we told my husbands mother i was pregnant with number one she said "no i dont want to be a grandma". Thing is she abandoned my husband and his brother when they were 2 and 4 so i guess she really didnt want to be a mother either.

    And so help me if someone told me not to use a pacifier i would shake them (not the baby the person who said it) Dont they know there was a small study done on pacifiers reducing the risk of sids.

     And yes you need a nanny while your working. weather its at home or not its still a job.

    Thanks! I've never particularly liked my name. It's unnicknameable.  Sha? Shaw? Na-na?

    I just posted a rant too. I can't stand how everyone has so much to say about how your life is run and what you do with it. If it doesn't affect them, stay out of it! Makes me crazy!
