So on top of some cardiac issues that will force me to deliver before 35 weeks (she want's me to at least get to 28, so they will most likely be Feb babes hopefully not January, I'll be 30 1/2 weeks on my birthday- Jan 28) which should be good (knock wood). Anyways, my two are measuring on the small side (25.2 weeks today, one is 1lb 7 oz, the other 1lb 9oz) I'm eating a ton also!! Anyone have any reassuring advice or thoughts and prayers would be accepted!! My high risk doctor will be doing the next U/S in two weeks. My cardiac issue is not actually heart failure it's a cardiopulmonary issue, that may need to be helped a little further in my pregnancy with heart meds that include diuretics. Also, I may be hospitalized the last week or two I am pregnant so they can keep a close eye on me. My doctor reassured me I will not drop dead (hopefully!!) but says my heart function may get a little worse but should improve back to normal with delivery and possibly medications.

Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!
She is measuring in the 5th and he is the 12th, according to them. With their weights it doesn't seem that low, but they have that margin of error which seems how they are measuring them with this which would throw them into a lot lower category. margin of error is +- 100+ grams for both of them.
I'm sorry
I spent a month on hospital bed rest for pre-e. I didn't think it was as bad as I expected it to be. I bonded with the nurses and they kept my spirits up.
Keep up the good work! I'm sorry you have so much to deal with, but sounds like you're in great hands. Praying for you and your babies!

I am sorry you are having to deal with all of this.
Have you talked to your OB about steroid injections at all? My sister just went through a really tough pregnancy. Her daughter was measuring very small (5th percentil) and abnormal measurements for the head and abdomen for 4 months of her pregnancy. They finally decided to give her two sets of steriod injections around 7.5 months and my little niece had a pretty good growth spurt!
They also help with lung development and are usually given if they think there is a chance the baby might be delivered early.
I wish you the very best of luck at your next u/s. Grow babies, grow!
Yes Mayan!! I work at a top hospital and that is also the hospital I will deliver at that has a Level 3 NICU. I actually asked my doctor about giving the steroid shots sooner than later by e-mail yesterday, haven't heart back yet though. They have been measuring on the normal side till about a few weeks ago and no problems with anything (health related for them) have been seen. She is measuring in the 5th and he although normal is the 12th which is lower. I know I'm up for a doppler study of the cord next appointment, which hopefully by then she will talk about getting me steroid shots asap. There are a few factors that could play in here: my health being one them (which I'm really sad if I cause my babies any issues!!), I'm trying to eat better (high protein, calcium) but besides my heart being alittle under normal, my lungs are also, and I also have IBS from gallbladder removal. The other factor could be a cord issue/placenta issue (although the placenta looks normal), their fluid levels and heart rates are normal also which is good!. Also, another factor could be that my donor was very small 105lbs, 5'2" and I think around 6 lbs at birth (full term), this could be another piece in the puzzle.
I know I shouldn't but I cannot help but blame myself... I hope to god they come out healthy enough to hang on and do well!! I hope neither one of them go down in percentile and I can hold them steady if not improve it with improving my diet. I was going to announce on Facebook this week but I'm really too depressed to. I want to wait till my next appointment to get a clearer picture. I'm pretty sad right now basically, trying to be postitive but it's hard!!
im sorry you are so sad right now. i have a feeling they will be okay. i feel like there is always something when it comes to multiples - im just waiting for mine. do not blame yourself, health-wise, no one is perfect, especially when it comes to diet....im sure i eat too much sugar.
also - i have IBS as well. i havent had any attacks since ive been pregnant. but usually i will have 1-3 attacks a year that last for 8 hours. IBS is horrible right?
