ehh .. disgusted! (vent)

so surprisingly christmas went ok. DH & I spent eve w/ his side. No one mentioned anything to me which was nice. the only one to mention anything was DH cousin Ann who I have been close w/ since high school. (which I didnt mind at all) we were alone enjoying dinner and she said she was sorry & it was actually nice to talk about everything considering i have been hiding for the past 2 weeks. As DH family came in & out I noticed one of his 24 cousins was missing. I asked Ann & she kind of looked at me like she didnt want to say. After a few mins back & forth she finally told me she wasnt around bc she just had an abortion 3 days prior and wasnt feeling too well to come out. I wanted to scream!! This cousin - shes 19, this is her 3rd abortion & with 3 different guys! Unfortunately, this seems to be a common occurrence in DH's family. He has 3 cousins that had accidental pregnancies but they kept the babies & they are adorable & a joy to be around. None of those cousins married their baby daddy or mama, and they are not in the picture! Besides this particular cousin, 4 others have had abortions from what I know about all under 20 - including DH brothers girlfriend of 2 years, who had an abortion last September! I was brought to tears (luckily just in front of Ann) who felt how disgusted/angry/mad/upset I really was. I look at all of the unwanted/accidental pregnancies in DH family and think to myself we are married (the only ones out of 24 cousins), & actually want a baby so badly but yet WE are the ones that lost it. Life can be so cruel sometimes. Well - just needed to vent! I do hope everyone had a terrific christmas with friends & family!
