A cold on Christmas :(

My LO has a cold. I'm kind of afraid to let her sleep alone since her nose is so stuffy it messes with her breathing and makes her sound all wheezy :( She also has a little cough that sounds so pitiful I feel helpless since there's nothing I can really do but keep her comfy until she gets better. There was no question to this, I just wish her first Christmas could have gone a little better. Kind of annoyed at my DH's family too, since LO has her cold we decided not to drive an hour and a half away to visit and they got annoyed at us like it was rude we weren't coming when we were initially planning on it. Some people just have no understanding. Ugh.

    My LO has a cold, too. :( He has the congestion and wheezing and occasional cough just like yours does, and, yeah, it sounds so pitiful I want to cry. He's starting to get better, but we had to change our Christmas plans yesterday, too. We didn't think it would be a good idea to take him out, so DH stayed home with DS for a few hours while I went to see my parents. Not a great first Christmas. I'm sure the next one will be better!

    We've been using the bulb syringe from the hospital to suction the mucus out of LO's nose and mouth. It's slow going, but it's been helping a lot. Have you used saline drops for her nose? Those can be helpful, too.

    Hope that both of our LOs get better soon!
