I don't think they are hiccups. I think hiccups are slower, more like how we hiccup.
Baby is head down, maybe sunny side up. These fast pulsating movements have happened a few times now on the right side of belly, even with belly button.
Sounds like hiccups to me. Sometimes I feel it super down low in my pelvis only, and sometimes I feel it in the middle of my belly. Continuous, rythmic pulses.

On my birth month board, as well as the 3rd tri, when I was pg many moms experienced what they described as seizure-like movements of the baby. I can't really tell you what it is, but I know moms who experienced it, and their LOs are healhty (6-7+ months old now). Still, mention it to your OB. It's always worth bringing up.

i only ask the above question because babies breathe at a rate of 40-60 breaths per minute and they practice breathing in utero. if it were to really feel like a seizure then i would tell your OB.

I have had these also. I joke around that it feels like a river dance or like she is punching a punching bag super, super fast. There are very quick pulsating movements that come in rapid succession. The thought of a seizure never even occured to me and now I am kind of freaking out. Does what I am describing sound like a seziure or just a normal, weird movement they occasionally do. It hasn't happened a lot...maybe 5 times.
Sounds like my lil guys usual antics and he was peachy at the scan today... I get knees and feet and allsorts pushing on my belly, he wiggles and jiggles all over the show and sometimes it just makes me laugh because it almost tickles. Other times he feels like he is trying out for the England Soccer squad ...and he catches me off guard with a swift hard kick...followed by a punch or two to the lower regions ( he's been head down for weeks now..and don't I know it lol)
Other times it just feels like pressure and I get hard lumps on my stomach wall, specially near my belly button ( he is trying to get his feet up near his face, so I found out today )...his favorite spot to push on lately. Then he stretches back out and kicks the other side of my stomach. The wierd thing is he was so active and sometimes I could see him going crazy, but I couldn't actually feel a thing.
Right now he feels like he is an octopus with 8 legs all doing their own thing .. I'm getting pokes and jiggles and bumps and wiggles in every direction. I wouldn't worry personally... some babies are just more active than others.
If your Dr's not picking up any issues then there probably isn't anything to worry about unless your gut instinct tells you otherwise. The 10 kicks an hour rule obviously wasn't relayed to my lil man
I have had this with this baby for a while. I don't rememberexperiencing this with my daughter. I do jokingly refer to it has baby seizures to my husband, but I wasn't really worried. I'll call them riverdance from now on....much more positive. I did plan on mentioning to my ob but more out of curiosity. What in the world is he doing in there?
I get these too. I've had them about three times and usually first thing in e morning. I've also wondered what they are and have never considered seizures. Maybe it's a shiver or something similar...?
Probably practice breathing.... we've felt it recently as well, very different from hiccups- faster, smoother, less jerky. I think it has been the coolest thing to feel yet, and it is a sign the lungs are maturing well. DH says "good boy"
I have felt these a few times, always in the same spot too, where her booty resides. I thought to myself yesterday,"Is that the baby peeing"? I guess it could be possible to feel the baby urinate as I have low fluid to begin with and I know the pulsating sensation is located right where her rear end is. I looked it up online and it looks like other woman have thought to have felt this too and it is called "the fizzies" I wonder if that is really what I am feeling. I know its not hiccups as those are a very different sensation.
