FFFC

Got something flameful to confess....

Re: FFFC

  • 1) I haven't taken my prenatal vitamins in over a month...not because I don't like them or don't remember...I just haven't.

    2)  A "frienemy" of mine just announced she is expecting her 3rd at the end of June on FB...she has 2 girls too.  I'm annoyed, I don't know why because I don't really see her and we just have mutual friends...but it still annoys me.  We used to work together and she said she was done having kids...but I guess she wasn't...or this was a surprise.  Now our kids will end up in the same grade (her other two are younger than my two) I don't know why this bothers me, I guess it's a bit of jealousy?

I am making DS do division worksheets and read over break.

I plan on putting SS and DS gifts in boxes that make them think they got crappy gifts....we got SS (age 16) an android phone (his only gift this year) but we are putting it in a sprint flip phone box.  DS got a XBox and I plan on putting it in a box for a barbie vanity that my neighbor was putting out in his recycle.

    flameful/flame-free friday confessions

basically you can confess something without fear of being flamed for it :)

  • The only Christmas gifts I bought this year were gift cards...and I normally despise gift cards because I think they're lazy. I bought them this year because well....I was lazy.

I think this (www.thebreastmilkbaby.com) is gross. I don't think breastfeeding is gross, but this doll lost me with the strap on nips.

When you tell me I'm being a b!tch it makes me into more of a ***, so flame away. It amuses me.

  • An old friend of DH's/mine (who has always been very obviously in love with him) just Facebooked me yesterday and asked me out for drinks. I took more than the usual pleasure in telling her I'd love to go out but that I won't be drinking because we are expecting Baby #2.

This disturbs me. Esp when they say "little girls need to learn how to breastfeed." No they don't. They need to learn how to be little girls and not dress like skanks.

I guess I am in the minority  here and don't think anything wrong of it. Would I go out and buy it for my daughter just because, probably not. But, if my DD expressed interest in it then I wouldn't have a problem with it. I agree with you when you say they need to "learn to be little girls", but this is something that little girls might see mom doing and want to imitate it...nothing wrong with that if you ask me. Heck when I was growing up we would stuff pillows under our shirts (and our barbie's shirts) to pretend we were pregnant. To me this isn't any different. If my daughter saw me breastfeeding and wanted to imitate me, I would grab her a doll and let her pretend. It might be something that makes new siblings understand what you are doing and they might feel included to sit next to you while you are nursing baby and they can "pretend" to nurse their baby.

  • I individually wrapped every single piece, plus another controller and a game, of the Wii we bought my brother and SIL for Christmas. I don't care how annoyed they are by it, I think its funny and it got rid of extra pieces of wrapping paper laying around.

We got them a used Wii, which won't bother them at all, and considered switching out our old one for their slightly newer one, but decided against it/forgot before I started wrapping it.

Also, we're hosting Christmas brunch here and by a complete fluke, everyone who offered to bring something picked the more expensive items and I don't feel bad about it at all.

  • I am really bad about eating fresh vegetables. I eat a lot of fresh fruit, and take my vitamins, but I know I need to start eating them. The thought of a salad has made me want to gag lately. Once it is made, I will eat it and love it, but the thought of making it grosses me out...no clue why.  Pretty much all other fresh veggies besides lettuce and carrots suck in Nebraska this time of year, so I have to go with frozen...which, again, I have been too lazy to make...shame on me.

Edit: I needed to add another...kind of bad. My oldest sister hasn't been feeling the best and said that she might wait to come to my house until tomorrow morning instead of tonight...kind of hoping she does so I can just hang out with my other sister and her family tonight...the oldest is up-tight, judgmental and just kind of weird.

Maybe I don't fully understand the toy, but couldn't the little girl pretend to nurse any baby? Especially one that's not so expensive?

My other is mor UO but if you do serious drugs and then tell me what you did tonight was to induce your labor and you don't give a f about the baby. I doc should be able to remove your f'ing uterus for being a piece of ***.

  • I am not looking forward to having a newborn.  The first month or two was really, really hard with J and I'm just dreading going through that again.  The no sleeping, the first few weeks of breastfeeding, the reflux & colic, screaming during diaper changes, plus my bleeding & healing, no thanks.  J is just so much fun now that he's older.  I do love newborn snuggles though.

  • I am dreading telling my grandparents about the baby because I am worried they will try and force my father and I to reconcile (haven't spoken in over 3 years). This is NOT my father's grandchild, he has NO right to a relationship with LO, and if they ever meet, he will be "Rob" not "Grandpa" or any other familial name.

  • I really want to cancel all of my afternoon clients and vwgo home, clean my house, and go for a run.

I am considering faking sick to get out of seeing my FIL and his new girlfriend on Christmas day. I'll see my brother in law, sister in law, nieces, and other sister inlaw that day but I do not want to see the new couple. I have a history with her and would rather not deal with it. Especially since  DH won't be around to restrain my big mouth.

At 13weeks4days I have gained 9lbs so far. Tongue Tied

Even though everyone knows I'm pregnant, I'm still hiding my bump as much as I can... for now.

  • ---I'm having conflicting emotions about having twins.  We didnt want children and then decided to have just one.  That was a big enough decision (not that I don't like kids, just other personal reasons), and now I'm petrified of having two.

-----I am almost 17 weeks and don't look pregnant to anyone but myself (and H sometimes).  I had to tell a couple people at work due to appointments, and now it seems the whole place knows.  I'm ready to be done with the, "oh my gosh you are having twins! You are how far along? What? You don't even look like you have one in there!!" comments.

----I'm also beyond over everyone's opinions and predictions on how our life is going to be.  Sorry, I have no issues hiring a nanny, working, not moving out of the city, and spending a ton of money of private schools.  Its like everyone expects our life to go to sh*t now that we will be parents.  I get that some things will change, but our world doesnt have to be turned upside down. Maybe I'm just an easily irritated pregnant woman :)

----we are holing up alone for Christmas even though my inlaws have given us  a lot of grief for doing so.  I don't care. one.bit.

I agree except I would probably buy it for my lil girl (if I ever have one). I think imatation play is a huge part of development and the more exposed as in seeing a mom nurse her baby the less stigmatizing it is and hopefully the easier the process of learning will be when the time comes for her.

  • Oh she doesn't have any of her kids and DYFS is already aware this baby will be withdrawing for months in the nursery before going into the system. I think the doc should be able give a hysterectomy or at least a tubal. Yet even people who are putting their children's lives in serious harm and voice multiple times how they don't give an f about their baby they want their fix, c/s, etc can't be prevented from bring additional lives into this world.

I just hate how people like that get pregnant without thought but good people who do everything right (eating, prenatal care, etc) loss a baby or just can't get pregnant.  It makes me sick

  • This might not seem like a big deal to some, but it totally is for me! Now that it's winter and I can wear bulky jackets, there are times when I go to the store or other such places (where I can keep my coat on) without a bra. I still haven't been able to find anything that fits me comfortably after this new... size increase, so it's just easier to go free sometimes :p I like how liberated I feel and I'm glad that I'm not PG in the summer because I could never be brave enough to do it then!

I lie.  Even if the baby is not super cute (and let's face it, some of them aren't) I will say they are adorable or something.  Especially if I know the new mom is having a tough time.

  • I'm doing P90X with modifications.  All these pregnancy workouts are ridiculous.  I'm pregnant; not handicapped.  I also have the all clear from my OB and enough sense to know when to stop.  If one more person asks me what workout I'm doing and then proceeds to criticize my choice I may hurt them.  And I'm not bothering with the gym... I can't workout with side eyes on me.

I refused to have DH's cousins visit us around New Year's because they smoke.  I don't care if they smoke outside, they're still going to smell like smoke when they come inside our house and I don't want to be inhaling it.  Plus I just really don't like them (they don't have jobs and refuse to find jobs, so they're living off DH's uncle who is on disability).

I spent more on clothes for myself this holiday season than on gifts for other people. Tongue Tied
