I had my annual gyn appointment today. First, I had to wait for the dr. to return from delivering a baby. I don't mind waiting, but waiting in a room full of pregnant ladies and pictures of babies was hard. Then I was taken to my exam room. The walls are extra thin. I could hear my doc next door with a lady talking about finding the heartbeat, blah blah blah. That's when I finally started crying.
To top it off, as my doc was doing my pap, he let's me know "Yep, you're getting your period today." I figured, considering my temp drop, but man what a tough appointment to get through. (My doc is super nice and understanding of my getting a bit teary eyed during my appt.)
I texted my husband about being an infertile in an office full of pregnant ladies. This was his response: "You're not infertile, you're hypofertile. You're fertile lite. Still fertile but zero calories." Way to put a smile on my face, DH. I love that man.
Re: GYN offices need a separate area for us infertiles; plus DH funny
Awwww.. That was sweet of him to get you to smile
Sorry about the sucky apt. I hate going to my OBs because EVERY.SINGLE.TIME I can hear them doing dopplers and I can hear the beautiful swoosh of baby heartbeats. Sigh.
My last yearly exam was HELL. I was just a few weeks from my miscarriage. I was sick and tired of being at the OB/GYN just for Pap smears. And then I heard all the dopplers through the walls.
By the time the doctor came in, I was a sobbing mess.

I feel ya. When I was going through my second loss, I went for a follow up and I could hear the doppler in the next room and everyone laughing and celebrating hearing the heartbeat. By the time the doctor came in, I was in tears. She was really supportive, which was nice.

The women who go to my RE clinic need to get this memo too. I swear the last 4 or 5 times I have gone there has been some jerk in there with their kid. There is a separate area for kids but they all ignore it. You would think that since they are going through something similar, they would understand that there might just be some of in there who dont have kids yet and who dont want to see your bouncing baby crawling all over me right before I have my u/s telling me im being cancelled due to cysts.
