Good morning! It seems like we have a lot of new posters. Welcome! And while we wish you didn't have to be here, we are glad you joined us for your stay.
The first two questions were on my BMB yesterday. Excuse my plagerism, but they got a great response, so I thought we could try them here. Sorry March mamas for the repeat!
1. What do you do for a living?
2. If you were living in your perfect dream world, what WOULD you do for a living?
3. What did you want to be when you were little?

Re: Daily Bed Rest Check-In (THU) 12/22/11
1. What do you do for a living? I'm a stay-at-home mom to my two, soon to be three kids!
2. If you were living in your perfect dream world, what WOULD you do for a living? I love staying at home with my kids, but eventually I'll be going back to school for my nursing degree and then possibly on to midwifery school. I got my teaching degree before Noah was born and have decided to go a different route!
3. What did you want to be when you were little? I wanted to have a dog farm

I'm sort of a 'Newbie' to this board. My son was born at 36 weeks due to pPROM, and I was on bed rest with my daughter from 30-36 weeks due to PTL and IUGR issues. I was induced with her at 37w1d because she stopped growing. Both babies were perfectly healthy at birth and I give a lot of credit to the bed rest with my daughter for making it to term. This time around I've been having PTL 'signs' since 17 weeks. I've been getting the 17p injections and cervical length checks every week. Prior to bed rest I had also been taking Brethine for the cramping I've been having for what seems like forever. As of yesterday I am on bed rest until 36 weeks. I knew it was coming and I'm glad I made it this far without it. Currently on Mag Ox, Procardia, Brethine and something new to me this time called Vistaril which is supposed to help with the side efffects of the Brethine so I don't feel like a crazy person
1cm dilated, but my cervix is holding steady at 2.3cm. These are almost the exact same stats that I had with my last pregnancy. Looking forward to getting to know you ladies, I found this board very helpful during my last pregnancies
1. What do you do for a living? I work in credit - processing applications, getting them approved for loans, etc.
2. If you were living in your perfect dream world, what WOULD you do for a living? Either be a SAHM or work from home (not sure what I would be doing)
3. What did you want to be when you were little? I wanted to be a Dr and even started going to school for it. However, my parents told me that "I would never make it as a Dr", so, unfortunately, I listened to them and quit. Still kicking myself for that....
4. Updates & vents Passed my 3hr glucose test!!!!!!!!
Hi Ladies,
Hope everyone is doing well and still cooking those babies!
1. What do you do for a living?
I am a project manager for database builds and delivering quality data for clinical studies.
2. If you were living in your perfect dream world, what WOULD you do for a living?
In my perfect dream world, I wouldn't be working! I'd live in the Turks and Caicos on the beach and spend time with my husband, kid(s) and dog
3. What did you want to be when you were little?
I don't think I had any clue what I wanted to be. My dad wanted me to be a pharmacist, but that didnt happen!
4. Updates & vents
I'm finally starting to get a little excited for Christmas. With everything that has been going on with my cervix and having to get an emergent cerclage last week, I really haven't thought much about the holiday. My doctor even said I can sit up for a while on Christmas since things appear relatively stable.
BFP #2 February 2009: Beautiful baby girl born at 33weeks 5days after 8 weeks of PTL, hospital bedrest and mag sulfate
BFP #3 September 2010: miscarried at 6.5 weeks
BFP #4 January 2011: Cerclage placed at 12.5 weeks, live miscarriage at 14 weeks RPL testing May 2011 - FOUND Factor V Leiden and slight autoimmune issues! Never so excited to have something wrong with me!
BFP #5 August 2011: Aspirin and Lovenox - trying one more time!IT'S A BOY!!!
You are SO in my thoughts - I'm sorry you'll be there over Christmas but I know if anyone understands the importance of being in the hospital for the sake of your LO, it's you. I hope you're able to make the most of it.
Lisa
Welcome to all the new ladies on the board! Hope your stay is as uneventful as possible

1. What do you do for a living?
I teach high school chemistry! I look forward to heading back to work this fall.

Still work in the field of chemistry, but would like to do more research based chemistry, although I do love teaching chemistry as well.
3. What did you want to be when you were little?
I wanted to be a meteorologist or marine biologist....still ended up in a science field, just not biology!
4. Updates & vents
The contractions have picked up the past few days, they are fairly constant at night but I hate going all the way to L&D just to be poked and sent back home a few hours later. My stomach feels like I have been doing ab workouts all day long...has anyone else felt that? My appointment yesterday still showed there was no change to my cervix, but apparently I did lose my mucus plus (TMI I know
), but the doctor didn't seem too terribly concerned. Just said if I start having stronger, timeable contractions with more mucus plug to call L&D and go get checked out. I have another appointment next Tuesday to repeat another FFN test, which if negative means hopefully LO will stay put until at least 34 weeks!
Happy Thursday everyone! Almost done with another week!
1. What do you do for a living?
I do accounting and finance work for a large global manufacturing company
2. If you were living in your perfect dream world, what WOULD you do for a living?
I would be a makeup artist, but not like at a cosmetics counter. I want to fly around the world and do photo shoots and runway shows!
3. What did you want to be when you were little?
My dad used to take me to work with him a lot, and I'd sit with the receptionist and answer the phone (family business, if you hadn't guessed!!). I thought that was SO cool!
4. Updates & vents
Quickie dr appt last night - ultrasound tech was on vacation, so it just heartbeat, PIAC, blood pressure. No news = good news to me.
Just made a jail break and got my hair cut and colored. HEAVEN!!!!
1. What do you do for a living?
Part time software development, from home
2. If you were living in your perfect dream world, what WOULD you do for a living?
Personal chef - it would be for someone famous/wealthy so that I could experiment with a variety of ingredients. But I would want to be a personal chef and make a small number of meals, not a restaurant chef where you mass produce and focus on cost.
3. What did you want to be when you were little?
I always said I wanted to go to bride school to be a bride, when I grew up
4. Updates & vents
Super anxious not being able to do anything in preparation for Christmas, it's driving me nuts. I was doing pretty well with the anxiousness until today.
LOVE!
1. What do you do for a living?
I'm a nurse at a doctors office. I love my job since there is such a variety with patients. I really enjoy OB and babies.

I think I would still do the same job. I really enjoy it, and have great coworkers.
3. What did you want to be when you were little?
I really wanted to be a vet.
4. Updates & vents
I stayed in bed till 12:30 today! I NEVER sleep in like that. On the bright side, my feet aren't all puffy like they were yesterday. I think I could also put my rings on if I really wanted to as well.
Good Morning Ladies! Hope everyone is doing well this morning. Can you believe its almost christmas???? Amazing how the time flies by
1. What do you do for a living? Right now I'm a SAHM but before I had my son I was a Cardiac/Stroke RN.
2. If you were living in your perfect dream world, what WOULD you do for a living? I would be finished with medical school and in my last year of residency to become an REI. I'm extremely fascinated by reproductive endocrinology and my struggles with infertility just "cemented" my desire to practice in this field...Who knows if I will go back to school or not?
3. What did you want to be when you were little? I used to tell everyone I wanted to be the "first lady" I think I thought it was an actual job like the president.
4. Updates & vents Have my MFM appt at 3pm (pst) today and Im super nervous because I know they told me at my last appt that any signficant change was gonna land me in the hospital and its my sons FIRST christmas so Im really hoping to stay out of L&D this weekend.

1. What do you do for a living? I do education and outreach for environmental science - I make sure that our educational materials are scientifically sound. I work for a hands on k-12 program that teaches kids how to collect and use environmental data.
2. If you were living in your perfect dream world, what WOULD you do for a living? Oh geeze, I don't know, something where I could be flexible. Maybe photography or something like that. Although, seeing how well I do on bed rest, I don't think I could handle it.
3. What did you want to be when you were little? I wanted to be all the normal things, but when I started thinking about what I really wanted to do, it was always around weather. So I'm doing something similar to what I thought I'd be doing.
4. Updates & vents: I woke up with a headache this morning, and it's finally mostly gone. I got pretty nervous about it, and Tyenol didn't work, and neither did caffeine. I also woke up with a sore throat though, so I was thinking that I just got too dehydrated over night because I didn't sleep with my humidifier on. I took a long shower (sitting of course) just breathing in the steam and it's seemed to help. Here's hoping that's all it was... I'm keeping good track of it just to be safe.
1. What do you do for a living? An accounts manager at a property management company
2. If you were living in your perfect dream world, what WOULD you do for a living? Professional poker player living on the beach someplace
3. What did you want to be when you were little? A flight attendant which I became and did for 6 yrs until 9/11...
4. Updates & vents: I too slept in until 10:45!! Never done that, I try and keep a schedule but lately my schedule is like a teenage kid on summer break. Stay up until 2 and sleep in all morning. I miss my old schedule. Thank goodness I have to be at OB at 8 am!
Yeah, there were quite a few jokes about it on my actual wedding day
1. What do you do for a living?
I am a high school ESL teacher.
2. If you were living in your perfect dream world, what WOULD you do for a living?
I would probably be a professor at a university or develop curriculum for the state.
3. What did you want to be when you were little?
An actress of course! I even did a professional commerical in college but was told I was too fat to be an actress by my theatre professor, so I dropped out.
4. Updates & vents
Another trip to labor and delivery yesterday, two days in a row. After two hours I was released because my contractions were not true contractions because they were only 30 seconds long, instead of 40. I was told not to come back in until they were 40 seconds or longer and have at least five in an hour. DH said it is crazy to tell the difference between 30 and 40 seconds. So the day before I had contractions and the shot stopped them and now I am only having an irritable uterus. It is so confusing. I want to be back to last weekend when I just thought I was experiencing braxton hicks. At least I will get my curtains done for the nursery today
My muscles are also really sore. I think they are just getting a work out with all the contractions
. I plan to ask about it next week at my appointment if I can remember!
You get to have one of the dogs in the hospital?!? That's so awesome! I'd be more excited about that than seeing my DH...it's ok, he is well aware of that too.
Thanks for the support...I'm feeling ok besides super-crampiness, over-use injuries from a trip to Target (seriously, I had to ice my knee last night) and a touch of insomnia/nesting that has me up at 4am. Only 12 days til the c-section...if LO holds off that long. Hang in there - I hope your LO gets to cook as long as possible. Every day counts...You are doing awesome!!
