3rd Trimester

The one money spender I regret:

Is the bedding set. Although it's pretty. As has been mentioned.. the bumper, the blanket the window valance is a waste of $$.

If I would have known, I would of bought a simple sheet set, and skirt. That would have been sufficient. Other then that, I can't say I have felt like I have bought anything else I regret or won't need.

  • Hmmm, that almost made me regret my baby "comforter" purchase, but it did inspire the theme to the nursery that I love.. so not a complete waste for me!  :)

  • Yes it is pricey to purchase such thing but I do not regret it.  I never had the chance to have these things with DS #1... No nursery, room for crib until later, bedding, so on and so forth.  Now I am fortunate enough to go all out as I paint the darn blue room with a 5 foot baseball on it!

I have other money regrets that are more to do with toys! Kids are funny as hell sometimes.... Buy some expensive toy for them and they choose the LAUNDRY BASKET to play with for hours! My daughter pretends she is in the ocean on a boat! Sigh, lol.

  • Since I have a baby (haha I mean toddler) already...from my experience with what we bought and what people bought for us, the biggest waste was baby bath towels and wash cloths.  Ours worked just fine for her, and I washed them separately with baby detergent just so we didn't have to worry about her skin breaking out in a rash or whatever.  My dad also bought a crap ton of Dreft for us, and that stuff is super expensive, and I found out after trying an item of clothing on DD that had been washed in our regular detergent that she wasn't allergic to it, so we ended up throwing all her laundry in with ours to save time.  I still have Dreft leftover from then so I was able to use it for the new baby's stuff til I am able to determine if she is allergic to regular detergent.  Hmm...what else...  One thing I didn't have enough of was bibs...when I fed DD with a bottle some formula would escape the sides and run down her neck and if it didn't get wiped up right away, she would end up with a diaper rash type crap in her neck.  The bibs really helped with that.  :D
