Sounds like to me she has a good OB. Although, when I was pushing for about 45 minutes, already took a dump on the floor and dying of thirst I was screaming
Here is some more drama. I don't think we'll have more children, but if we do I might get another c/s if given the choice. I was all about natural labor and had a midwife at a hospital known for few interventions. It's a long story, but I stalled out at 7cm and due to the risk of infection (my water had broken) I ended up with a c/s 29hrs into labor. I'm afraid of going through all that again just to end up with a c/s. At least I can skip many hours of gut wrenching pain. All right...let the flaming begin

No flames from me. I never progressed past 5cm and due to that and a couple other things, I had 3 dr's recommend against VBAC. #2 will be a scheduled c/s. I do believe there are exceptions, but this OP is just scared of a "big" baby and wants a way out.

You've already had a c-section. It's not flameable to have a repeat c-section and opt out of VBACing. A lot of women go that route and there is nothing wrong with that. I have to go that route unless I want to challenge my "too small pelvis" diagnosis.

No flames here either. I am also done having children but if I were to have another I would ask for a c-section (IF they believed it to be another large baby). DS was a 10 pounder with broad shoulders and the dr. needed to use the forceps. I ended up with a 4th degree tear that took months to heal. I never want to go through that again.
Thanks, guys! There is so much emotion tied in to everyone's birth story. I love my DD, but it took a while to come to terms with what happened. Part of me wants another baby in spite of being scared. My DH doesn't want more, so we'll see what happens. The good thing is our LOs are healthy, regardless what type of entry they made into the world.

Lurking - no flames here either. I was actually really upset that I had to get a c/s. I didn't progress past 7 cm. In the long run it was a good thing since DD had the umbilical cord rapped around her neck 4 times! There was no way she could have been delivered vaginally! I'm nervous about the next time I get preggers - but I'm all for trying a VBAC since the Dr said it wasn't my fault for needing the c/s.
The other post though about the baby being too big - I understand the nerves, but still... I don't think a lot of people realize that is the price to pay if you have major surgery like that.
Re: 3rd Tri Post, for anyone interested.
