I throw mine through the washer and dryer with two tennis balls, and it totally works.

The tennis balls worked for me to but it makes a lot of noise in the dryer. It drove the dogs crazy.

I always dry mine with tennis balls and haven't had any problems. I've had the same Boppy since DD was born.

Basically, they "beat the crap" out of the Boppy the whole time and prevent the lumpiness from ever occurring. Mine usually comes out fluffier than it was when it went into the wash.

I never heard of the tennis ball thing, but I wash mine all the time. With and without the cover on it. I haven't had any issues.
