I do not have a dog right now, but when DD was born I had a boxer mastiff mix. I miss her.
I think we are going to get a dog in a few months...probably a Staffordshire bull terrier mix, if possible. There are size restrictions at the apt complex we're moving into this spring...it's too expensive for a purebred, and the mixes I've found at local shelters are too big. We'll start looking more seriously once we've moved though.
www.petfinder.com You can find ANY breed on there and many rescues are willing to transport!
We have a great dane and a "beagle mix" that's what the shelter called him, but he's quite the big beagle mix at 85lbs.
I will definitely keep this in mind! SO and I are really excited to get a dog "for DD." She just loves dogs and is always sad when my sister's dog goes home
We have a grumpy mid sized mutt that I got from some people that didn't not plan on puppies and would not cared about him if he'd stayed. She seriously rode a bike around town with the pups in a back pack. SMH
We also have a loveable lab/shepard cross that is a total lap dog and Ikes favorite toy. We got him from SIL after he grew to big for her small apt. He was gifted to her so she wouldn't be lonely. SMH at his breeder. You know how big the dog will be, don't give him to someone in a tiny apt.
An 11 year old black cocker spaniel. Biggest pain in the butt ever, he honestly makes me want to never get another dog again! Thankfully DD just adores him so I guess I can continue to deal with him lol.
Two boxers (the one in my avatar- white male, the other is a brindle female). My mixed breed rescue (maybe a boxer/lab or a lab/pit) went to the rainbow bridge last friday. It is weird to say I don't have 3 dogs anymore.
American Staffordshire Terrier - basically a pit, but smaller with a pointy face. She's old, senile, smelly & a drives us crazy, but I love her so much.
We have one too! He's two and we got him from our local shelter. Hes a big baby who sleeps with our three month old kitty. Love him even tho he can be a PITA. lol.
Sorry for the crappy layout. I bump from my phone.

Sorry for your loss. Yeah I was doing our Christmas letter this year and when I got to the signature line, where we always put our names and our pets, I realized that for the last 3 years we have had a pet (or 2) die each year, which just sucks. This year 1 ferret, last year my other ferret, the year before 2 cats within days of each other. The ferrets were both old age but the cats were both kidney disease and that was awful. Hope you find someone else to love on to add to the pack when your ready.

Is the "breeder" the one who gifted her? Breeder in parenthesis since no real breeder breeds mixes - and additionally, what kind of moron gives puppies as surprise gifts!? Plus the part you mentioned where it's going to be a big dog in a small apartment.
At least he found a nice home with your family! )
you mean quotes? Sorry I'm often a punctuation weirdy.

oh sorry! I'm just a nerd! Would more cowbell help your fever? I kid I kid, feel better!
Black and tan mutt. Lab, retriever, hound, and possibly pointer mix. He's so flipping cute. We just got him - only 2 months old. He should be about 50ish lbs when full grown.

So funny how different dogs are. My 2 doxies LOVE kids and are fantastic with DD. They actually prefer kids to adults
