Would you give your almost 3 yr old pigs in a blanket?

I'm thinking about getting these as one of the appetizers for the kids, but I still cut up hotdogs for Nicholas in quarters.  I am just paranoid he'll choke on it if he eats a hot dog the regular way.

I'm probably overthinking this, but I just don't want him grabbing one whole and choking on it.  I know they are smaller than regular hotdogs, but I still worry.

  • I think most use smaller than regular size hot dogs so less of a risk. We let Toodle eat them if they have the smaller dogs inside.

This.  I made them once at home with regular hot dogs cut in half.  Ava wouldn't eat it anyway, but I did slice it up for her.

  • I still cut Riley's hot god length wise before I give it to him but I think since the pigs in a blanket are smaller I would let him have them. But I would likely make him sit down to eat them, kids have a higher chance of choking if they are up and walking around.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Have Nicholas sit down to eat them.  Of course that will probably be easier said than done.  He can just picture him and my niece and nephew grabbing one and then running off.  He never sits still to eat.  My boy is always on the go.  Smile

  • I would not have an issue with this for G.  My biggest issue with Garrison now (especially if other kids are around) is that she wants to run everywhere, so if there is food around I just need to remind her that she needs to stop and eat and once she is done chewing she can run.
