One more clingy

My girls are 11 months old now, and have completely different personalities!  K is glued to me all day long and cries when I leave the room.  A gets a little upset when I leave the room and gets jealous of K when I am holding her every once in a while, but is otherwise completely independent.  I am starting to feel bad about the imbalance though.  I wonder how A feels when I am constantly holding K.  K literally follows me around ALL day though and pulls at my legs to be picked up.

Has this happened to any of you?

Re: One more clingy

  • I was a nanny for twin girls who did the same thing.  S was SOOO attached to me, while E didn't really seem to mind being second to have to do everything because her sister was so in my face all the time.  It kind of turned out that that's how their personalities are to this day, they are now 4 1/2 and one is still way more easy going then the other! :)  I did try to spend some one on one time with E while S was sleeping or otherwise occupied, and gave her extra cozy time when I could.  When they were about 15 months, they switched and S was the one who didn't care less where I was, and E was all over me.  I enjoyed the time with both of them being extra lovey but it was hard at times to feel like I was giving each child the time they deserved.  My best recommendation would be just to give A more attention when you can, and make sure she has some special time without her sister right there. But don't stress, this will be their first lesson of many in being twins. :)

This. Mine have all gone through clingy phases. For a long time, it was Oliver, but now it's Miles.

  • Thanks ladies!  I was starting to worry that I was giving A a complex :)
