My mom is making two different fruit-based desserts and asked me to bring something chocolate. Normally I'd whip up brownies but she went all out and made some complicated Paula Dean Trifle for Thanksgiving and now I feel lame. ![]()
Any go-to recipes you love? It's not going to be a huge crowd--maybe 7 people.
My mom also did all her holiday baking this weekend and made a ton of chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies and homemade English toffee--so we're set in that department.
More along the lines of a cake thing? Not sure. I don't bake all that often! LOL

You can make some kind of truffles (cheesecake ones with chocolate coating would be delish!)
Or you can make something like this:

Just thought of another idea that travels well...
Chocolate cream cheese cupcakes.

Mmmm....thanks ladies!
I have some thinkin' to do! They all sound really good! I'm a sucker for anything cream cheese.
I'm also a fudge fanatic!
Cake balls, so delicious and impressive. I get so many compliments every time I make them!!

I am currently making Yule Log Cake for my French class because I'm an overachiever like that. (My students better appreciate it, dammit!) It's a little tricky, but definitely impressive!
