Chicco Keyfit or Britax B-Safe carseat?

Anyone comparing these? I am looking for pros and cons for both.

Which one has a higher safety review?

Safety: All seats have to meet the same safety standards and technically, the safest seat is the one that fits your child and vehicle best. Both are great options, Chicco is rated #1 because of ease of use, which is the third big factor in how safe a car seat is.

Install: Britax is good, Chicco is the easiest of any infant car seat.

Limits: The B-Safe has a 2" higher height limit so you will get more use out of it than the Chicco. The Chicco won't be outgrown really quickly though. Unless you have a really tall baby, the Chicco should easily get you to at least 9 months and about 50% could make it to 12 months.

Size: The Britax base and seat are quite a bit bigger, so it will take up more room in your vehicle. Test it out to make sure it will fit. Carrier weights are very similar though.

Canopy: Britax is better but I didn't have any issues with my Keyfit 30.

I would also think about what kind of stroller you want to use and check car seat compatibility. If you plan to get a Britax stroller, I would get a Britax car seat too. The Chicco can be used with Britax strollers but you have to buy a separate car seat adapter.

We got the B-Safe & the B-Agile stroller. It has great ratings & we really liked the stroller.

I picked the stroller first and then the carseat. I fell in love with the Britax B-Agile that pp mentions. It was a no brainer to go with the B-safe carseat bc it doesn't require a separate adapter.

We have the Chicco Keyfit 30 in Midori and love it. So easy to install the base, and the carseat snaps into it so easily, there's no mistaking that it's in right. LO has been very snug and secure in it thanks to the little snuggler that comes in it for babies. It worked very well for us since DD came home at 4.5 pounds and not all carseats are made to go down that low but ours was. The NICU nurses were happy to see that we had the one we did.

We looked at both but have decided to get the keyfit even though we're getting the b-ready stroller. Didn't like the material in the b-safe seat and didn't like that the seat belt loops for non-base installs were not exposed. More of a convenience issue. Also it just felt cheaper to us. Not sure why, just a feeling we both got. It's a hassle to buy the adaptor but worth it to us. Actually liked the chaperone seat but hated the base.

I have a Chicco Keyfit 30. The B-Safe wasn't around before DS was born. I don't think you can go wrong with either one, both are really good car seats.

IT IS ALSO THE CAR SEAT OF CHOICE FOR FIREMAN/POLICEMAN/PARAMEDICS...and I quote "that's the only seat I put my child in" I heard it and 2 of my friends that had our seats inspected and installed (I also got "glad to see your choice for your infant seat" Also a friends FIL is a doctor that mainly deals with infant head/neuorlogical injuries and highly/only recommends this one.

I've looked at both in person and read reviews. I would totally get a B-Safe over a Chicco. Better canopy, higher height limit and I just trust Britax.

I've read on an Amazon review that the higher height limit on the B-safe was deceptive and in reality they have the same height range. It was her own personal experience so her baby may just have a longer torso. Who knows. My brother did extensive research on carseats with each of his kids and he ultimately went with the keyfit both times though not sure what Britax was offering in infant seats 7 and 2 yrs ago. He's OCD about safety now that he's a dad so I also trust his research. He had a mini cow when the booster seat my niece used on their last visit wasn't a full seat but just a booster used with a regular seatbelt. I didn't know it wasn't a full on seat either but didn't expect that reaction from him! She's almost 7 but on the small side so still fits in the full seat with 5point harness.

Went in wanting a Chicco, came out wanting a Britax

I LOVE the B-agile stroller so then I did some research on the B-safe. I'm confident it will work for our needs and be a great carseat.

I was considering those two and decided to go with the Keyfit mainly because it was lighter. Britax is one of the heaviest seats available.

I was also buying a BJ stroller and not sure if a Britax would be compatible. It turns out the Chicco isn't a great fit for my BJ City Select either. I also can't figure out how to get the BundleMe to work with it when the straps are on the lowest setting (but that could be user error).

I think you are confused with the Britax Chaperone. The B-Safe is actually lighter than the Chicco.

Does anyone know which stroller of the two travel systems has a higher handlebar height? I'm 5'11" and would prefer to not have to hunch over to push...thanks!

With DD#1 I had the Chicco travel system and I loved it! So easy to install

This time around we're going with the Britax B-safe car seat because we fell in love with the Britax B-agile double stroller for the girls and we wanted the same brand car seat so we wouldn't need a seperate adapter for the stroller
