8 week growth spurt?

ds must have nursed yesterday about every hour and both sides (maybe more than once).  is there a growth spurt around this time?  I feel like i should drink some mother's milk tea to make some more milk for him since he can't seem to get enough.  last night he woke up every 2 hours (or less) to eat which is not his normal thing, he was sleeping 5 or 6 hrs straight.  he did give me lots of big grins when he woke me up though so I can't complain too much :)  can't wait to see how much he weighs at his appt on tues, he was 14lbs 2 weeks ago and is already in 6 month clothing lol.

    Several people have asked this in the past several days.  There isn't technically an 8 week growth spurt but many of us seem to have observed this happening regardless.  My DD gained 9/10th of a pound in the space of 3 days.  It was nuts!

    My LO is 10 weeks old and just had one. There are "typical" times when they have them, but I think they can have them any time. My little guy was a cranky mess for two days! Didn't want to sleep, screaming all the time from being tired and hungry, just no fun. Then yesterday he woke up at 8 to eat, slept off and on all morning, ate again at noon, took a 4 hour nap, woke up and ate, and slept for another 3 hours or so! Then he slept for 9 1/2 hours straight last night! When I measured him last night he had grown about an inch since his dr. appt. 9 days ago!

    This just happened to me as well.  My LO didn't have an 8 week growth spurt, she was pretty calm that week.  Shes 9.5 weeks old now, and a few days ago she went from calm to fussy, and nursed constantly.  She seemed still hungry after every feeding.  Then today she is completely happy again, and nursing as normal.  I agree that babies can go through these growth spurts at any time, and not just the common times.
