It's been a while since I've been around, but I recognize some names on this board so I hope it's ok if I post my question here.
W has never had a problem with rashes so I'm not exactly sure what to do. He's been pooping overnight almost every night the past week, which is very unusual for him and is causing a pretty bad rash.
We usually use Aquaphor as needed, and it's worked on all his mild rashes before. It hasn't been helping this time so we also tried Desitin. It doesn't seem to be helping either. We're changing diapers twice as often during the day and giving time to air out between diapers when possible.
We CD, but I don't think it's a yeast rash. I may try adding vinegar to my prewash just to be safe.
Any other tips/tricks? Thanks!
Re: Rash question
The only thing I could think of other than what you are doing is to check on him periodically through the night and change him if he's pooped.
Are you using cloth at night as well? I have had a lot of luck with Triple Paste. I would maybe put a disposable on, and slather that stuff on. My pedi has always told me to put it on as thick as cake frosting. The more you put on, the better the barrier will be against the poop.
Thanks ladies, I will try some Triple Paste.
We do CD overnight, I have been putting a clean dry cloth wipe between W and the diaper when I use rash cream. I'd be afraid to try disposables at this point, I have no idea what brand/size would work best and I'd hate to have a leak or blowout. He hasn't been in a disposable once since he was about 6 months old.
