WWYT Ron White and Due Date!

So hubby and I LOVE comedy. And he would love to see all of the men from the comedy tour (ron white, jeff foxworthy exc...) So DH told me last night Ron white is coming to Casper (2 1/2) hour drive! I said of wow really. He had a grin on his face and said yea do you wanna go?? I was like um yea when is it? He starts laughing and says Dec. 17th. This is funny because we are due Dec. 18th!!! Butt head!

But now im really considering it. The tickets are $200 a piece but im sure we could find some one to buy the tickets from us last min. If we did go into labor.(no one is allowed into hospital due to swine flu anyway) The only reason im considering it is because it seems almost ALL the bumpies on here seem to be going late!! I understand all pregnancies are different but it would be kinda fun to have the show to look fwd. to so im not so anxious about baby. Would you risk it??

  • For $200 bucks a pop...I wouldn't risk it.

  • I had to deal with something similar.. Daughtry & Theory of a Deadman are?coming 30 minutes away 2 days before my due date.?

We didn't get tix.. thinking we would just wait and buy them on ebay or stubhub if we did get to go. :)

    ?

I would be worried with it being 2 1/2 hours away in your situation.. ?

    This.

  • Maybe if it was closer, but it's 2 1/2 hours away. I wouldn't. And not everyone goes late. It only seems that way because they're the only ones posting. The ones that went earlier are on the 0-3 months board.

  • For me personally, I don't think I'd go. I'm not that adventurous.

But if you're looking for reasons to go, I'd say get the tickets IF--

    1. You can sell them or give them to someone if you're in the hospital or if labor is imminent.

    2. Someone (like a grandparent) will keep the baby for you if you've already given birth.

    3. You're okay with the possibility of going into labor there and hightailing it home. You may also want to be aware of nearby hospitals and whatever.

  • $200...that sucks!  We just saw him in Milwaukee for half that.  He was totally worth the money though.  I have to tell you that I was no where near my due date and I was a little uncomfortable but was able to make it through the show with only one bathroom break. The 2 21/2 hour drive would make me very nervous...maybe you could see him on the next leg of his tour?
  • I definitely wouldn't go.  I had DS at 37w5d and was SURE that I would go late.  Go later if he comes back, I don't think it's worth it at all.  Most first time moms have a long labor (or at least longer than 2.5 hours), but you WON'T want to be in the car if you start having contractions there.
  • 200?? That's insane! DH and I saw Bill Ingvall, in the 3rd row a couple years ago and only paid 30 each. Wow!

    I wouldn't risk it though.

  • over 2 hour drive and $200/ticket to go be uncomfortable sitting in a comedy club or likely miss it all together??? Not worth it.

Welcome to the wonderful world of parenthood...you can't do it all anymore.

  • I love Ron White!  But honestly, even if you are late you may be very uncomfortable at that time.  Last Friday we went to my mom's which is 45 min away and my back was sore from the car ride, I can not imagine a 2.5 hr car ride right now.  Plus the seats for the show may not be ideal either.

For $200 I would pass at this time.

I so wish I would have known that he was just in Milwaukee!  I so would have gone!
