Pregnant after a Loss

Little guy is being too quiet...UPDATE

I talked to the on-call and she told me to come in. I'll keep it short: he's fine. They hooked me up to monitors. He had a steady heartbeat. I had one minor contraction but it was due to a full bladder. It was really hard to find his heartbeat, and I tried not to panic. I was there for almost 3 hours because it was hard keeping him on the monitor. They think he was in a weird spot. Im glad I went in, I needed the reassurance. Thank you ladies for your advice and help :)

Yesterday and today, Ryan has been quiet, as in, I can barely feel him. I'm probably being a worried wart, but its bothering me. Since about 25 weeks, he's been non-stop movement and its been great. However, since yesterday he's been almost completely quiet. I even used the doppler this morning, because he hates that. I didnt get any movement, and the few times he does move, its really soft movements. Does he stil have enough room to hide in there? Am I crazy or should I be worried?

  • I'm assuming you found a hb with the Doppler. I remember Dylan's movements weren't consistent until after where you are now. I'd say if you are really worried call the doc and see what they say. I know I have an AP and sometimes he would get tucked up behind it at that stage and I would hardly feel him at all. (((hugs))) hope he gets moving again soon.

  • A few weeks ago I had several quiet days just like you are describing.  Freaked me out!  I went to the Dr. hoping for an ultrasound, but she did a NST.  Everything was fine.  We are assuming she was turned facing the placenta so that her movements/kicks were mostly absorbed.  Now, back to crazy with movements that HURT!  I'll take that any day!  I know it's scary, but keep listening to that heartbeat and try to relax!  I'm sure he'll give you a good kick soon!  Also, if it would help, don't hesitate to call your Dr.  They are there to help!

  • I'm not as far along as you, but the last two days my LO has been active, but not as much as the last week or two.  Surprisingly I haven't gotten too worried about it because my OB said his movements won't be consistent until after 28w.

Hang in there...at least we have our dopplers thank goodness!!!

  • OK, if this were me (and I am only telling you what I would do specifically) but I would head to L&D. If it is nothing then great, but if it is something then they can help. After my experience, this would be my plan. Alexander hated the doppler too.

Even if it is just nothing, you will have piece of mind and that is worth millions when you are PGAL.
