Looking for OBGYN in Boise area!! Just found out pregnant!

Hello Everyone

Just found out I am pregnant.  Can anyone reccommend a good OBGYN in the Boise area?  I currently see an NP but would like to change since I am now pregnant.  Male or female - I'm just looking for someone who is obviously caring and a great doctor and will listen to all my questions without making me feel dumb!  Also don't want to see someone who is sooo busy and makes you wait hours and hours for your appointment.  Thanks for any help!!

  • I am seeing Dr. Glen Lovelace in Boise and he has been great so far. He's laid back and very kind, answers any questions you might have and never condescending.

He's in a practice with another OB (Dr. Christensen) and I haven't had any experience with him, but my SIL went to him when she had her twins and had a good experience.

Also their office is practically across the street from St. Luke's so that is reassuring for me that the doctor will be able to get there quickly when it's time.

    Hope this helps :)

  • Dr. Carlsen with St.Lukes downtown. He is great! He did an awesome job at giving me my VBAC. All the ladies in my family also see him.

  • I agree, Dr. Carlson is wonderful. Every time I have an appointment he makes it seems as though he has all the time in the world for me.
  • I have heard great things about Georgianna Ainslie, she is a midwife at St. Al's.(and she also practices at Boise OBGyn)

I just had a miscarriage and I had been to OBGyn Associates in Meridian, I must say I didnt like them too much because the times that I was seen I was seen by different doctors and NP's.

I definitely would like to sit down with Georgianna once my time comes.  :)

    GOOD LUCK and CONGRATS!!

I agree with you about Georgianna Ainslie at St. Al?s. She is wonderful.  I?ve only seen her twice, but I knew she was the right midwife for me.

  • Like a few PPs suggested, Georgianna Ainslie is great! She delivered my first baby and I saw her through out my pregnancy with my second baby. She was out of town when I had my second daughter though and another midwife at the office delivered my daughter... Her name is Jo Ann Johnson and I actually stuck with her for my last pregnancy and this pregnancy. They are at Boise OB/GYN
