NBR: Curly hair girls

I just wanted to recommend curlmart.com local pickup for products. IDK where any of you get your hair products but curlmart.com has pretty much anything you want. Finding products has been hard since I've gone to the "curly girl method" because most stuff that is best for curly hair you have to order online. I love Kinky Curly Curling Custard that can be found at Target but wanted to try some other stuff since KC Curling Custard was the first thing I tried. Just figured out this past week that you can pick up and not pay shipping since they are located on N. Lamar. They always have 15%-20% off promotions too which is nice.

  • I love that they specify different types of curl and wave. It recommends the Curlisto II gel for "curly twirly" hair, but gel often makes my curls flat. Hmm.

Oh, there is a whole online world of curlies. Some of these girls really get into it. I'm a 2c. The Kinky Curly Custard is great. It does leave a good gel cast that once your hair dries you scrunch out and the curls look great. Also these products are meant for curly hair so they aren't the normal gels you find at H-E-B. No silicons and a bunch of other stuff that dries out your hair. Curly hair needs lots of moisture. I'm just wanting to experiment with different products.

I've see the custard stuff but not gotten it, worried that it would weigh my hair down. But based on FB, I think we have similar hair. I'll have to try that stuff out. I generally use Ave.da be curly, but I would like a little more hold.
  • Yeah, it has the hold. It's best to put in on when your hair is super wet and then scrunch the water out with a micro-fiber towel and let it air dry or diffuse it. Once it's dry just scrunch your hair to release the crunchiness of the gel.
  • Just FYI- not everything at curl mart is CG-friendly. You still need to check ingredients, but their setup makes it really easy to do that.

I had no idea they had local pickup, that's awesome!!
