Last night was our first Bradley class. During the introductions I learned that the woman sitting next to me is preparing for her 9th birth. Her first birth was a c-section and all subsequent births have been VBACs. I didn't get to talk to her but hope I can next week. She did mention that since her first birth almost 17 years ago that the issue of her having had a c-section has never been an "issue". Pretty amazing.
Re: 8 time VBACer in my Bradley class!
That is awesome! It's especially telling when you meet women who had their kids 20+ years ago, when VBAC was routine...it's so based on politics right now.
But it does make me wonder, why would she need to take a birth class for herr ninth kid?

She said that her 3 births following the c-section were with epis. Then they did a Bradley birth which was their "best birth" (shortest, most manageable, calmest, etc). The rest of their births were unmedicated but they felt each one got progressively harder and they were less prepared and less of a team with each one. The dad doesn't feel up on his coaching skills. It's been 3 years since her last birth and 9 years since her Bradley birth. I guess they want to get back to basics.
Or, they are a plant working for the instructor :-)
Hee hee, I like the second reason better!
