Colace, Fiber Sure in coffee, Fiber tablets and a ton of water are not cutting it this time. Dr OK'd a few laxatives but was wondering what has been proven to work for some of you ![]()
He said I could take Mira Lax, Milk of Magnesia and one other... Have either of these, or others, worked well for anyone else?
Thank you all so much in advance. This is getting miserable!!
Re: Constipation. I need more than Colace!
Me (33). DH (37). DD (2.2012). MCs x4. After 4 years & 7 months, due 4.2018!
I will be keeping this in my back pocket for a few days. I am almost that desperate.
I have still been going a little tiny bit so OB is not worried. (I literally thought there was a cork in my a$$).
Ill look for the Senna S. Took one dose of Miralax last night and nothing yet.
I like that I can just mix it with water and its tasteless
OB did say I may need a few days/doses of it for relief. I was really hoping one shot would do the trick!!
PLEASE report back with any suggestions!! I am the same way. Colace was working for a while. Noting in my diet, or water intake changed, but it has been close to a week. It is so awful
It's a GIRL!
Milk of Magnesia worked wonders for me. It took about 18 hours total for EVERYTHING but still... I felt so much better.
And um, spinach.
Spinach salads are eaten at least every other day.
Colace, Senna - nothing works for me anymore now except Milk of Magnesia. I learned about it from this board and it is AWESOME.
I do not ever run out - I always have a back up bottle in my bathroom. I get the plain, non flavored original and it's awesome. I don't even measure anymore. 2 big gulps and the next morning things are moving.
It is by far the most consistent of such products I have used during the PG, and I've had life long fun issues of not going/impacted colons,...
Milk of Magnesia - try it! I drink it right before going to bed. The taste isn't bad - just no taste really - kind of thick and chalky, but worth it.
The check out kid at the grocery store is going to love me
Milk of Magnesia, prune juice, Fiber Sure (I'll still use this in my morning coffee), and we are ironically out of toilet paper and Cottonelle wipes (I love those things).
Here is my routine. Since being placed on bedrest things have slowed down considerably so OB told me to do this and it has helped. Do you drink coffee? If you do, switch to half caff or full caff in the morning while you're getting ready for work. Not sure if the caffeine gets things moving but it definitely helps me within 15 minutes. Hope this helps!
ETA: sorry I just read that you drink coffee, maybe switch it up to regular strengh
