One Month OBGYN Appointment - Internal Exam?

I have my one month (actually 5 week) follow-up appointment at the OBGYN today. What does that entail? Do they do an internal exam? Just want to mentally prepare myself...I hate internals and when they checked my cervix at 40 weeks I bled and started to cry so it makes me leery of these now.

  • I had mine last week and yes, they do an internal exam. It wasn't comfortable, but nowhere even close to what it felt like during pregnancy. It was also over very quickly.

Good!! I never had a problem with pap smears but the internal exams from week 38-40 were very uncomfortable to me. I had a c-section so I wasn't sure if they have to check what's going on in there or not....thanks for the heads up Mrs Nash! :)

  • My OB didn't do an internal.  Just checked some bloodtest results and sent me on my merry way.  I didn't have any tearing though and she DID do an internal at my one week pp appointment.
