Belly Laughs Jenny McCarthy

Borrowed this book from SIL last night and finished it all. I was laughing through a lot of it and felt bad for her because she went through that. The whole time I read this book, I was thinking I am so glad I haven't had a lot of symptoms yet or had too serious of symptoms. Fingers crossed that it will still stay easy for as long as possible.

Has anyone else read this book and what do they think?

  • I read it and thought it was cute. I kinda wished it was longer though,

  • I read it when I got pregnant with DS, so almost three years ago.  To be honest I really don't remember it, but I do remember that at the time I thought it was hilarious!

  • Loved this book! I should read it again now that I've been through L&D already, to appreciate it more - and to refresh my memory on the pregnancy part.

  • I read it about 6 months when I had bought it for a pregnant friend, but now that I'm pregnant I've sort of started re-reading it. Its absolutely hilarious. I do wish it was longer too. I feel like there's more she could write, but I guess she didn't think so. :) Her other book is Baby Laughs... basically the same thing but about the actual baby. I haven't read it, but I'm sure I'll pick it up when it gets a little closer to my due date!

  • I enjoy the book, though sometimes it's hard for me to mentally get past knowing about her asinine views on autism/vaccines.

  • I have the book and it made me laugh but I also wish it was longer...especially the chapters. It felt like she was just getting going and then the chapter would end.

  • I just got this book from the library last week and I'm part way through it. So far I love it, very funny! I didn't know she had another one, I'm going to have to get it.

Another member of this team. I'll go one further: I think anything she writes is trash. I am angry--yes, angry--that this woman has a platform at all, given how she has almost singlehandedly endangered thousands of children in this country with her patently false beliefs about vaccinations.

  • I picked it up at the thrift store the other day, and it looks like I'm alone on this one but I wasn't that impressed. Yeah, there were parts that were funny but sometimes it was just dumb.  I feel like she wrote it in a couple of weeks.  She didn't know she couldn't get in a hottub? I also felt bad for her husband and her -   Sex once in 9 months!  That's craziness.  Plus all her mention of being a celebrity and hating her body kind of got on my nerves. I'm know I'm not going to feel beautiful most of the time, but she seemed to really push all the negatives about pregnancy. What about the positives?

I have heard that 'The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy' is much better.
