Fake it til you make it...

So I have an office holiday party in an hour that I will be attending and I'm going to have to fake drink.  Normally I would just pass on a drink, but I'm too afraid that this time it will tip everyone off.  I was thinking about accepting a glass of wine and then pouring it out slowly over the course of the party. I almost thought about telling the hostess about being pregnant so she could help me scheme, but I'm not ready to let the secret out at work yet.

 Any other ideas?

    Drink water and call it vodka water, drink cranberry and orange juice and call it a tequila sunrise, or say you're taking antibiotics and can't drink :)

    I was thinking about pouring it out when I would go to the kitchen for a snack or maybe even go to the bathroom.   I may make a "mixed drink" with water and lime.  I've got to come up with something quick!

     Well I work with everyone so we all have to be at work at 8am. Nobody really drinks that much anyway but I think it would plant a seed if I turn down one drink.

    A friend of mine got away with this for several months by having her husband take sips from her glass while no one was looking.  He could switch glasses with you intermittently also.

    I had to do this last weekend! I was drinking vodka waters with lime and would just go to the bathroom dump it out an refill my glass with water. It was all family and no one noticed anything:) make sure you keep the lime though.

    I have a couple of parties coming up too. My plan is to ask the bartender for a sprite or club soda in one of those small glasses they serve mixed drinks in. And throw in a lime.

    Cranberry and sprite with a lime is always a good one...go to the bar and order it OR catch the server while you are away from your group, order one and just tell her to "keep them coming," or whatever and maybe tip her to keep your secret :-)

    I've had to do this at 2 of DH's work xmas parties...I just asked for tonic water and a lime- no one asked. I think we're the only ones paranoid about it!!! Enjoy your "vodka" waters!! :-)

    Just ask for a cranberry juice with sprite in the same kind of glass that they're serving the drinks in.  Yummy, and it looks like a cranberry with vodka!  Add a lime wedge, and you're golden!Cool
