We usually do some sort of foodie type gift for the in-laws for Christmas. Since we live in FL, and they are up North, we usually will do a citrus type thing for them. I was just curious if you know of other food options that we can do. Is there some regional speciality/shop near you that does amazing food baskets or gifts by mail?
For example, one friend of mine was suggesting this place in San Francisco that will send out amazing looking sourdough bread etc.
So if you can recommend some options and share links, I'd be a happy bumpie!
TIA!
Re: Any unique food basket/regional food gift options where u live?
I received soup and cornbread from this non profit. The food was awesome. And it goes to a good cause.

And Harry and David is located in Oregon although they don't really specialize in NW baskets.

Not necessarily all local, but definitely a fabulous place to send a basket from.

Also, although these aren't full gift baskets per se, the items come from an authentic Tex-Mex institution, the real deal:

I don't have links for you, but maybe some sort of chicago style pizza. New York hot dog, or National Coney Island here in michigan is pretty big.
I've had family out of state want chili from national coney island
Ham and peanuts are big in VA.

Just an FYI, I've found that non-Virginians find it very odd to be sent a ham. They often don't understand how to serve a pre-cooked salty ham which of course is on biscuits!
Cheese/Beer/Meat for us (we are from WI). I don't have any links right now but I could find some...
Wisconsin made
Cheese mart
There are a couple-I know we have some really local places as well, but I'm off to a meeting and don't have time to google!
We've ordered from them before. I don't eat meat (except fish), but everyone else who had it loved it. I remember eating Honey Baked Ham years ago.
Loving all the ideas people!! More more MORE! hehe

Always Sunny's back b-tches!
Just thought of one "local" place. They make really good popcorn
Minocqua Popcorn
I don't know if any of the local beer places send out gift baskets, but if they do and you're sending to someone who likes beer I think they'd make awesome gifts. WI has some really unique beer varieties!
Not necessarily local, but I LOVE The Spice and Tea Exchange. There are a few different locations in Florida (I went to the one in Tarpon Springs all the time when I was still in FL) and they're online.

The Nest/Bump sucks and won't let me change my location. I'm in Arkansas, not Florida.
