Songs about something important in your life...

I swear, Kelly Clarkson's Mr. Know It All was written for my ex. I love this song. What's your song for the moment?

I'm now downloading some of her songs. Haven't heard them in a while, don't listen to country much. Listened to it while I was growing up, but not much lately. Thanks for the reminder! LOL

I think that's actually by Kelly Clarkson - and I love that song.

Mine is probably "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood. That came out right around the time my ex and I split when I found out he'd cheated on me. He shortly thereafter starting dating someone else and that song always made me remember that thank god he wasn't my problem anymore!

Love her. "I Wish" is one that was very relevant to a past relationship...and "Bring on the Rain" reminds me of when my grandfather died.

Home by Daughtry. I remeber getting on the plane to leave Afghanistan, them closing the door, the plain taking off, and this song blaring over the loud speaker. Everyone started to cheer, and cry. Everytime that song comes on, it makes me think of that.

"Bring on the Rain" came out right after I placed my daughter for adoption. It had the perfect meaning for me. Because I knew I was in a bad place but it would get better and I had to go through the bad to get to the good. I love that song.

"The Greatest Man I Never Knew" by Reba, makes me think of my dad having sacrificed his career just to move us someplace with better opportunities for women. Now he works for $11 an hour with a masters degree in computers and a couple of different Cisco certs.

"Silent Legacy" by Melissa Etheridge, because I did not know that a few of my friends were struggling with coming out and the hardships they faced while we were in high school and because sometimes I feel trapped by society's expectations. And because no matter what goes on in C's life, I want to continue loving him unconditionally.

"Your Love Amazes Me" I dont know who did that one, but for DH.

With a broken wing by Martina Mcbride reminds of the day I got up the courage to leave a physically and emotionally abusive relationship I was in in High School.

The Avett Brothers' "The Weight of Lies." I'm not sure why, but I love that song in general. Also their "Pretty Girl from San Diego."  I liked that a lot when I broke up with my ex. It was a weird situation where I was still in love with him but knew breaking up was the best thing, so the lyrics of that song work for that.

Also The Kinks' "Good Day." I love this song on my worst days.
