So, I am begining to wonder WHY in the WORLD the thing I've been craving since lastnight is only fast food. This is driving me nuts. I'm so against fast food! I NEVER ate it pre pregnancy, and now it's ALL I want. What the heck! Why can't my pregnant body understand that stuff isn't good for you, and to stop wanting it! Grrrrr!!
&& Why is first tri board pure drama alllllllllll the time? I think I'm going to ditch it and stick with my July girls. So drama free in here, love it! I hate feeling like there is a highschool on the internet, lol.
Re: NBR: Fast Food and 1st Tri board
At least you have your appetite back! That's a good sign!
I totally got sucked in to that first tri BS. Maybe it's my fertility treatments and prior loss talking, but I have no understanding for people so careless about pregnancy.

Here we go again...IVF 3 is underway!
This is my first pregnancy and I'm freaking out over EVERYTHING. I just dont understand how some people are just sooooo chill. I guess good for them? Atleast they aren't stressing every 5 seconds like me, lol.
For the last month the thought of cooking anything has made me
so it's been fast food and restaurants by default (though I've def. been craving it too). This morning I am finally thinking about cooking again. I'm sure it's just a phase.
I was crazy impatient during my last PG... could not stop thinking about it and reading about it and celebrating every day that passed. But when you have an outside kid(s) to take care of it definitely gets pushed to the back of your mind. Makes the wait much more tolerable!
I hear ya on both. But I am not going to freak about every tiny thing. I had a cone from Dairy Queen yesterday and it rocked. I am not going to go against what my doctor says, but some of the new "rules" are nuts. Like the soft serve and peanut thing.
I look at it this way. Stressing doesn't change things and just makes it harder on us. I am going to try to enjoy this pregnancy as best as I can.

Theres a soft serve and peanut thing?! Well crap, this I didn't know. I've been eating cashews like crazy. I thought peanuts were good for you!? And whats wrong with soft serve?! I'm not gonna lie, I get soooooooo confused on this dont eat do it this and this. Growing a baby is some serious work! Lol.
i want you to know that i always agreed with what you said lol...that post was/is ridiculous. i don't get why people don't understand your immune system is compromised while pregnant. and she WAS bragging. it was annoying.
Soft serve ice cream can supposedly have listeria in it...but I have read opposing articles about it. It is pasteurized in the US and should be safe. It is not on my no eat list, but some freak over it. The peanut thing is due to allergies I guess...again okay per my doctor, but some won't do it.
My friend won't eat any fish or seafood during pregnancy either, I just can't live like that. We all takes risks, we just have to find what level we are comfortable with for us.

I don't really think there are many things food wise that can TRUELY harm your baby. I know they say stay away from some things, in which I think most pregnant woman try their best to do. Fast food wise, I just made a pledge to myself 7 months ago to stop eating it because I did a big research on it and found out how bad it truely is for you (pregnant or not!) and I told myself no more! And now IT'S ALL THIS PREGGO LADY WANTS! It's making me nuts! Lol. I'm like STOP IT CAITY! YOU DON'T WANT IT! NO NO NO! Lol.
As far as freaking out, I'm mainly referring to everything else! Symptoms, no symptoms, weird feelings in my body, ect. I'm always dr googling and freaking myself out even more! I've banned myself from google! It's TOXIC!!!!
You know, people just take things to an extent of crazyness. It's like the new everyday "this causes cancer". Seriously?! At this pace EVERYTHING causes cancer! Silly silly! I truely think some people just over analize a lot of things. I've read my baby books long freaking food chapter and I don't understand why people think fish is bad, lol. I mean it clearly talks about how to be safe about it and which ones not to eat because of mercury or whatever and obviously don't eat raw fish and raw red meats. But soft serve?! Really? I think were safe, lol.
On a kinda funny side note, I was watching the world news the other day and they were saying that men that use a laptop on their lap can decrease their sperm count because the radiation from the laptop kills the sperm. SERIOUSLY?! *shaking my head* what is this worlddddddddddd, lol.
The problem is like many other things is that there is nothing to back it up as being safe or not. We were talking about it here a while ago and found two articles from the same website only two months apart...one said it is fine, the other said it isn't. So who do you listen to?
For me I am following my OBs guidelines, but a lot don't see them until later. I just wish there were more clear cut guidelines, it is hard.
The last listeria outbreak was from romaine lettuce and cantaloupe. It can come from almost anything.

The spern thing is actually very true...not only the radiation, but the heat. Since my dh doesn't have any sperm that was one of the first questions asked.

Wow, really?! I thought it was just a joke. That's crazy! Well, I'll be telling my hubby to take the laptop off of his little army!
yeah, i agree. i wish things were more solid because while my OB didn't say anything about soft serve, i know others do. my friend who is also pregnant right now started to worry because wendy's frosties were soothing for her, and then she found out about the whole soft serve thing. but, she asked her doctor, and he said if listeria was a problem at wendy's EVERYONE would know about it haha...so he wasn't concerned.
She was TOTALLY bragging. I had to peace out. It was getting stupid.

Now I am going to have to go troll over there...what's going on ?
As for the drama, I try my darnedest to just stay out of it. I was really tempted to comment on some childish behavior I saw today but resisted the urge. Participating in it can only make it worse, from my perspective.
Living Well on the Cheap
I ATE IT! And it was sooooooooo good. I ate it too fast, and now my belly looks 6 months pregnant, tehe. :P AND because they took "so long" to bring my food out (I didnt notice, I was entertained by my doggy getting bug eyes at everyone that she saw, hahahaha) they gave me a free breakfast burrito coupon for next time! SCORE. :P
Make a pregnancy ticker
That's exactly why I didn't comment! Creating post after post "calling people out" and being childish urks me! I wanted to say something! But I was like no I'm not going to feed the fire. I'll just come back to July 2012 and tattle :P
I'm not really active on the first tri board. We're not really "doing" much to prepare for the baby until after Christmas so I'm just in baby-growing, trying-not-to-puke mode.
The food stuff drives me crazy, in general, though. I have been eating pretty much the same as I normally do, just with extra fruits and veggies added in. I've also been spacing everything out more because I have to keep something in my stomach at all times or I feel just awful. There are certain things that some books say to avoid that I don't, mainly soft cheeses. I love Greek salads and feta! I just stick to the "normal" brands not from the imported cheese case and make sure it's pastuerized.
The whole listeria thing...canteloupe seems way more dangerous to me than lunch meat.
I don't know, the food thing is frustrating because everything is so contradictory.
We're the exact same weeks pregnant, and both our names are Caity/Katie...and I see OU...As is Oklahoma Sooners?!
Oh man! I love the south so much. I'm so happy my husband got orders to the south and not the north. I was in Chicago with him for 2 weeks a long while back (back in my fast food days, lol) and baffled that we couldnt find a sonic! And I almost had a heart attack when the Mcdonalds in the north told me they didnt have biscuts and gravy on their breakfast menu!!!!!! I love the south, I do, lol.
I miss Portillos so much. We are visiting family in march and that will be our first stop out of Midway. Lol!

Yes!!!!!! What is Mcdonalds WITHOUT biscuits and gravy!!! They have GREAT biscuits and gravy too. They even have sausage in their gravy (thats some real gravy!) I've lived in Oklahoma my whole life so when I went to the north for 2 weeks I was totally lost, lol! People were looking at me crazy in my cowgirl boots. I road a train for the first time, and I was very at home that there is a cracker barrel there. Yum yummmm!
The tri boards are always drama. Always have been, always will be. I avoid this time around. Just stick around here
I crave fast food all the time as well. My OB is totally fine with it because a lot of times it's the only thing I can keep down.
