gripe water?

Is it really the liquid gold that everyone says it is? We changed her formula to Enfamil Gentlease and that has helped alot but she still has a little gas here and there which does not make her happy. The gas drops that we have didn't help a whole lot so I just gave her some gripe water in her bottle.

Re: gripe water?

  • It never worked for DD.  :(  We just had to burp her extra after she ate to try and get rid of the gas.

  • Some babies are just gassy no matter what you do. Gripe water and Mylicon were magical for Abby. Did nothing for Emily.

  • Gripe water was worthless for us, Mylicon was great.  Catie also did better when we switched to Dr. Brown's bottles, but they're a huuuuge PITA to clean.

  • i've tried both gripe water and mylicon. kid hates the taste of both, so i end up wiping more up from his chin than anything else. not sure if it ever worked since he never actually swallowed it. we just burp a lot longer after he eats (sometimes works) or we try to make him fart it out in the morning. he seems to sleep okay now even though i hear him swallow a lot of air during his night feedings.
  • They work for DD (both Mylicon and Gripe Water).  I also have some tummy soother from Gentle Natural that works as well.

You know you can add it to their bottle, right?  Might help.

he only gets a bottle in the morning, and it already has the vitamin D drops in it. his gassiness is worst at night. he seems to be handling gas a lot better now, but we should've tried giving him a bottle at night instead when he was younger and adding it in there. lessons learned for later. :)
