What to get a one month old baby for Christmas?

In the $20-30 price range.

It seems so long ago since Joey/Cam were babies.  I can't think of anything.  She was just born Thanksgiving weekend so she'll be just a month at Christmas.  I could get her an outfit or something but wondering if there is some "must have" item that I just don't know about.

Any ideas?  (BTW, she has two older siblings.  A sister who is 3 and a brother who is 6).

  • A nice hardcover book and jammies?
  • Loading the player...
  • A box of diapers, savings bond, stride rite or gymbo giftcard.  or this:  DD and DS both love it!

  • My niece was born 11/30. I am making her a crocheted giraffe hat and got her the mini giraffe Pillow Pet. DS got her a larger outfit and DD is giving the gift of oral hygeine and picked out infant tooth and gum paste and a new toothbrush. LOL

  • Cleo - I forgot about Sophie!  Good call!

And that looks like a fun site!  :)

I love that little turtle light.  I think they have a pink one too (maybe someone here posted it).  The baby sleeps with momma for the first year (or even longer) so that wouldn't really be practical at this point.

Thanks for the ideas ladies!  Keep 'em coming!

  • My niece was a month old at Christmas, and I got her a very nice hardcover book of "Twas the Night Before Christmas." I thought it would be a nice book to have now, and as she got older. Parents loved the gift.

You could go the cheesy Baby's First Christmas route (ornament, bib, picture frame, etc.), but I like a book idea better.

  • I would get a personalized blanket or a few books (sign them To the new baby).

Our best friends own it. I try to put a little plug in for them when possible.  ;-)

  • Mac was 2 months old last Christmas and the best gifts he got from other people were Sophie the giraffe, a monogrammed hooded towel from PBK and a super cozy blanket-the brand is Little Giraffe. All stuff we didn't need since we had so much from when James was a baby, but nice things to receive as gifts!
  • For a third baby I'd get something personalized. I usually give embroidered burp cloths or diaper covers from Etsy seller sewdressed up.

Exactly! The Sophie, the wooden Haba clutching toys, monogrammed PBK stuff, etc. are all little luxuries that many people wouldn't actually buy for themselves, but as gifts they're perfect, IMO.

  • Oh, I'm totally going the personalized bath towel route.  I LOVED those bath wraps when the kids were little.  I might still get Sophie -- of course, that puts me up around $40 which is more than I wanted to spend but who can resist spending money on newborn squishiness!
  • Our favorite gifts for #3 were Sophie the Giraffe, soft blankets, monogrammed burp cloth/bib sets, and the Sleep Sheep.  And of course anything girly since she's our first girl :)

  • My nephew will be 2 mths old at Christmas.  I got him a set of wooden blocks.  They come in a wooden storage box that I had engraved with his name.

  • My nephew will be one month at Christmas.  I am getting him an ornament, this book, and this toy.`
