DS is in the phase of asking us if we are happy, angry, etc. He is also starting to act out a little at school and the teacher suggested asking him how he feels and how he thinks people feel when kids throw and hit (he doesn't hit, but he does throw b/c another kid is a big thrower). We kind of discuss feelings, but I think reading about them will help as well since they have helped us in the past when dealing with any transition (new baby, doctor, school).
Any suggestions?

Lots of great books in the SADNESS / DISAPPOINTMENT / HURT section that might relate to what he's going through.
We love the book "My many colored days" by Dr. Seuss. Also, Sanda Boynton has a cute book called "Happy Hippo, Angy Duck."
My mom gave us a series of feelings books that she bought at school (elem principal). The author is named Trace Moroney.
Also every time he does something mean ect we talk about how brother/mama/daddy feels about it, when he gets upset about something we talk about how he feels and remind him of times he did something similar and does he think XYZ felt the same way he is feeling now.
DS likes this one too...and it is very colorful and has fun pictures. We often "act out" the feelings after reading about them.
I also like the Llama Llama books..."Llama Llama mad at mama" is a good one.
