Baby Gas Pain

My 7 week old is having a terrible time with gas pains. I had to switch to formula and after a week of her crying ALL day long the pedictrician said she has a protien allergy and she is now on Similac Expert Care Alimentum. It workes great for her and she is feeling so much better. However, every once in while she gets terrible gas pains and last night she was up all night long crying and she usually sleeps through the night no problem ( we are lucky I know). I could hear the gas moving around in her belly but none of it would come out no matter how hard she kicked, cried and pushed. I rubbed her belly and nothing. I sat with my hand applying gentle pressure to her belly and she fell asleep almost immidiatley, but as soon as I moved my hand she cried instantly...put my hand back and she fell back asleep. We use Mylicon drops as well. Is there anything else that I can do to help her when this terrible gas attacks?

    Did you try peddling her legs like she's riding a bike while he lays on her back? We do that with our son when he's really having trouble and that helps him tremendously to move the gas through so he isn't in pain anymore. good luck!

    Colic Calm is the only thing that works for us when his gas is so bad I can hear it in his belly.

    You should have a stool sample taken and tested for blood. My son had the same problem and he couldn't even take Nutramigen, that's how bad he was allergic. He had blood in his stools and that was the only way they knew he had to be on Elecare formula. The blood was not visible to the naked eye, but the testing showed that there was quite a large amount. Just a thought, to make sure.
