I'm looking into switching clinics to Shady Grove if we decide to wipe out the rest of our life savings to do a second IVF cycle. I'd like to get some idea of the costs they charge before going in for a full new patient appointment.
Is anyone willing to help breakdown the charges? Also, how do the "shared risk" and multi-cycle discount work? How can you get up to 6 cycles for a flat fee? What is that fee?
We are IVF with ICSI, frozen sperm, assisted hatching.
Re: Another Shady Grove Info Request...
All this info is right on their website:

I also have contacted them re DE and they were very quick to supply a fee schedule and to talk about their program/answer questions.
Wow! Ok. Thanks. I don't know WHY I didn't see that myself.

I've been with Shady Grove since 12/2010. I love my RE and I've always found the staff to be patient and compassionate. I know many feel like a number because SGF is too large, but that has never been the case for me. But, I go to one of the smaller offices, so that may help.
I'm not sure about the OOP costs, as we have coverage. I know my insurance company was billed $9500 (negotiated cost was $5600), but I'm not sure how it would be different if we were 100% OOP. My nurse once said they can give meds to patients without insurance coverage and I have donated unused meds in the past for that purpose. Like Edwina said, their website does a good job of explaining the various financial programs. And, I've always found their office to be prompt and through in explaining financial issues. Good luck!
ETA: I forgot to mention. A friend did their shared risk program in 2009. She said she paid around $20k.

Our perfect baby boys were born at 36w1d!!
We're at SG doing shared risk totally OOP...it's around 20K and it's a couple K more for the ICSI and assisted hatching...but like i told DH, after the first 20, what 2 or 3 more right? (sheesh...)
Oh well, I'm glad we went with the shared risk, since we ended up BFN the first time...our RE told us that we can basically keep trying as long as we want to, since if we fail after 6 times, it's completely refundable...and in theory, you could just use that $20K and start over again, you know? but she says after 6 times most people begin to explore other options (new clinics, adoption, etc.). I am thankful everyday we did it this way and that we chose to move into IVF when we did, since doing IVF revealed more problems we had...so at least we didn't throw a ton of money into IUI when the chance of that working (we learned) was insanely minimal.
Good Luck!!!
