Joining! And a question about nicknames...

Hi ladies -

it's been almost a month since my D&C, so I'm joining you and hoping to get AF soon so we can start trying again.

Here's my question - if you had a nickname for your LO during the first round (we actually used it even when we were TTC), do you plan to use a different one next time? I sort of feel like using the same nickname the second time around somehow makes the first one seem less real. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same experience. Thanks!

    We didnt have a nickname yet, but we were making our list of names and will pick from the same list.

    I think we'll do that too - but we also had a nickname we were using before we found out the sex. I know a lot of people use "bean" or "peanut". Ours was an inside thing but similarly neutral.

    Yes. We're using different ones.

    We went with Cashew for Aurora. Someone had called her a little peanut and my DH looked at me and said "But I like Cashews" so, before we knew Aurora was Aurora, she was Cashew. I couldn't see using it for anyone else.

    With my 2nd BFP, I knew we had to go with my favorite. Almond. That was short lived, and I just cannot see using Almond again. Almond was that baby.. not the next one.

    We're going to continue with the "nut" theme. But we're not sure what the next one will be yet.

    We had a nickname for our LO, "Spawn." I didn't like calling the baby "it" so we came up with it the day we found out I was pg. I will not use it again for any future children. Spawn was very much so a real baby and because I didn't know if it was a boy or girl, that's my child's name in my mind. We are the type that we won't come up with it until we find out I'm pg and we'll go for the first nickname that feels right.

    Ironically, Stickers.  I started using it when I felt something was off, kinda like a last ditch effort of hope. 

    I don't know about using it again.  I jokingly told the hubs perhaps Stamp or Scratch-n-Sniff the next time around.

    I'm going to use a different one.  This one was Blueberry.  Next one will be Raspberry.

    Welcome to the group, I am so sorry for your loss. I can understand the nickname thing, we called out LO "bam-beano" and I don't think I could use that same nickname again. We will see what sticks the next time around. I hope you get AF soon and GL to you on your TTCAL journey.

    DH and I used simply "The Bun".  We never got the chance to know the Bun long enough to choose a name so I don't think I could ever call any other by the same name <3
