Vaccinations....just been thinking

So I've been doing some research into vaccinations for my LO. I know all the worry about vaccinations=autism, but also not proven. I just think that the list seems like alot for my LO's body to take. I found this really interesting article on it https://www.pregnancy.org/article/conservative-vaccine-schedule

It makes some sense. I was wondering if any 2nd time moms dont do more than one vaccine at a time? how does your pediatrician deal with it? I'm all for vaccinating and protecting my LO, but 8 shots at once....I wouldnt want to do it to my adult body!

Thanks!

  • DS never gets more than 2 at a time per my request and the pediatrician is fine with it.  DD will do the same.

  • DS is vaccinated on the normal schedule and he's never had eight in one day.  The vaccine = autism doctor was discredited.  According to my doctor, the amount of active ingredient in each vaccine is less than it was when we were kids, so even if LO gets several in one day, he is actually getting less "stuff" put in his body than we were.
  • We follow a delayed schedule and try not to do more than 2 at a time.  Sometimes we'll do 3 if 1 or more is a repeat and we haven't had a reaction in the past.  I like to know which vaccines cause which reactions and when we limit to 2 the pedi usually has a pretty good guess and we're more careful/ separate more for repeats of the same vaccine.  We've had fevers with almost every round of shots including 1 that was high enough to send us to the ER.  The MMR was also quite a doozy with a fever lasting 5 days.  So glad we did that one all by itself.  The kids will be up to date by the time they are in kindergarten.

  • I'll have O on a delayed schedule only getting 2-3 at a time. I'm also delaying the MMR until after 15 months but he'll be fully vaccinated before school starts.

2 seems like a good number, did you request the MMR to be done individually instead of in a group? oh and by the way your siggy pic is adorable!

We did request that the mmr be done by itself.  our pediatrician is good with whatever schedule we want to follow so I decide what shots we want to do and she goes with it.  we do ask her opinion on what vaccines she feels are highest priority and take that into consideration

    And, thanks :)

  • Not only was the UK doctor discredited, his medical license was revoked, he was found to be engaging in unethical behavior in his research, and he was on the payroll for attorneys trying to sue vaccine mfns

Before you decide that a delayed vaccination is the right way to go, based on what you "feel" is the right thing to do, you should know that there is no scientific basis for this delay.

I wasnt planning on "delaying" any vaccinations, just doing them a little more spread out.
