Hey everyone I was wondering if you might have any ideas for finding a good maternity Winter coat that's affordable? I shopped around today but the coats I found were very thin. Thanks!
I just bought a regular coat that fits loosely. The overlap for the buttons is about 6 inches so I can also move the buttons over if necessary. I didn't want to spend money on a maternity coat when I don't know how often I'll be using it. This way I have a coat that I can still wear for years to come.
I'm SOL this winter b/c motherhood doesnt think plus sized gals need a coat. I can't find a non maternity coat that can handle these boobs and growing belly and still close so i'm just going to get an ugly as hell mens 3x and hope it keeps me warm. My mom suggested a site called Romans for plus sized coats (not maternity specific) but there were a few styles that could work...just a bit pricey for one winter IMO.
I thought this too and went ahead and ordered a 4x pea coat from Old Navy (I'm usually 1x-2x) and I think it may just work. Usually the bigger you get the longer the sleeves get but the sleeves fit and there was plenty of front room for growing belly and boobies..

I thought most of the ones I found in maternity stores were too thin, and Target by me only had 2 maternity coats (also too thin). I ended up getting a plus size coat for $65 at Target and am very happy with it, though my husband doesn't think I will need the extra room (wait til he sees how big I am at 8 months!). Of course this doesn't work if you are already plus size, but otherwise it might be worth a try.

Re: Any luck finding a good maternity Winter coat?
My mom got me this one:
https://www.motherhood.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=973740070&MasterCategory_Id=MC8
I live in the south, so I don't need it to be too terribly warm. I did go out in 40 degree weather today and was perfectly comfy.
It fits really well- I'm a big girl, so I got an XLarge, and I think it should fit for the rest of the pregnancy.
I got this one from old navy: https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=4696881&vid=0&pid=858047012
For $30 (after discounts) it will suffice for this winter. It's actually pretty cute on too :-) The navy plaid is nice!

I bought this one from Ricki's
Motherhood has one for $85ish as well though if you are looking for a maternity coat.
