Trying to Get Pregnant

Green tea & pomegranate juice

Hi all:

I've been reading a lot about people drinking green tea and POM before O and I'm just getting ready to start TTC cycle 2 (just waiting for spotting to turn to AF!) and wanted more information on this.  I know I read about green tea somewhere but I can't remember what either of these are supposed to help with.  Can someone fill me in?

Thanks!

Re: Green tea & pomegranate juice

  • Green tea should only be drank from CD1 to O. It helps with cervical mucus.

  • Green tea I believe is supposed to increase EWCM.  I tried it cycle 2, and actually noticed less EWCM than usual.  No idea whether that was connected to the tea, but clearly, it did not increase it for me.

Green Tea is supposed to help with CM and POM is supposed to help with lining.  Some ladies have luck with Green Tea, I didn't, I stick with lots of water instead.  POM is debatable as there is no solid scientific data to back it up.

This link has information on it as well as a lot of other very interesting information if you haven't already read it.

    HTH!

I had read that and now I'm guessing that's where I remember seeing the green tea info but it has been awhile.  I didn't remember that there was anything about pomegranate juice on there.  I guess when in doubt I will try to remember to look there first.  Thanks everyone :)

  • I read online that somewhere Pomegranate juice is supposed to help with sperm too. But again no scientific proof of that either.

I think many find it to be an acquired taste. I like it cut with diet 7Up or Sprite...and even better with a splash of champagne. :)

I might have to try that last suggestion!

I've been drinking green tea for the last couple of cycles and it hasn't really helped me with EWCM. I'm still drinking it but only because I quite like it and I think it stops me from going back for more coffee.

I'm down with anything mixed with champagne, really.

I've been doing the green tea & pom thing since reading it on that super-helpful link when I was lurking. I've also heard whole milk mentioned as something ladies TTC should drink. Anyone heard anything about that?

  • Pom makes some really good tea and pom mixes.  I like Pom no matter what but TTC is just an excuse for me to drink more of it.  I also just discovered Effin vodka.  The black cherry flavor is really good with Pom or cranberry.  I'm not a big green tea drinker but I tried it this cycle.  I had less CM than I usually do so who knows.  What works for me may not work for someone else.

Green tea is said to increase EWCM. I tried it this cycle and definitely noticed an increase. I think it's worth it to try AF-O and see if it helps you track your cycles a little better.  For me, it just reinforced the other Ovulation indicators.
