Re: ^^^^^Pregnant after 35 Weekly Check-in!^^^^^
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
37 weeks today!!!! still feeling good (again, except for the groin pain). had a biophysical profile u/s last week. everything looks good, boy is head down and appears to have 'dropped' a bit. have been nesting like a fiend for the past few weekends
Question of the Week: The QOTW comes from mtngrl2007 (thanks!): What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far?
this is my second pg - first one, the boy was breach the whole time. what has surprised me this time is how totally and completely different it 'feels' to have a baby head down. i feel so many more movements, and can even distinguish body parts. it is like night and day.

We finally told our families at Thanksgiving, so we're offically "out" now. It's nice to not being keeping a secret anymore. I officially "popped" last week -- I tried on pants before I packed them on Tuesday to make sure they still fit okay, but by Friday, I couldn't zip them anymore. Thank goodness I took a pair of maternity pants with me "just in case"! And I think I'm starting to feel movement. I noticed it one night over the weekend and a few times since then. I guess it was a big week for me!
Question of the Week: The QOTW comes from mtngrl2007 (thanks!): What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far?
How fast it's going by!
33 weeks today. 7 weeks seems so close and yet so far away. Feeling ok. Starting to wear out quickly now, can't breathe, heel pain that makes it hard to walk, horrible carpal tunnel in my right hand and as of Thursday I have an appendage under my right rib and I itch all over! I'm trying hard not to complain out loud as I know that overall my pregnancy is going very well, but some days I just want to lay there and moan
I think the surprising part has been side effects I wasn't even aware could happen, especially the carpal tunnel and now the itching. I expected the exhaustion, runny/stuffy nose, inability to breath at the end, swollen feet etc, but there are some doozies that no one tells you about. It's worth it though and we are so excited to meet our little guy!
How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared? I'm feeling okay. Morning sickness seems to have eased up quite a bit. I still have food aversions especially in the evening. My newest symptoms include cramping and spotting. I went to the doc today and they said there's blood in my uterus from the placenta trying to imbed. It's going to slowing keep coming out until it's all out. Baby's fine. We'll see what happens.
What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far? I'm just surprised at how many issues keep popping up with this pregnancy. My last pregnancy was so easy, but this time I have progesterone pills, thyroid issues, now bleeding... It just makes me wonder what else will pop up.

Astounded that I am already 30 weeks! Still dealing with heartburn and backaches (especially after a 4 day weekend with my toddler) and am starting to have a lot of groin pain and more BHs. I hardly had any BH with my daughter so I'm hoping it's a good sign.
Question of the Week: The QOTW comes from mtngrl2007 (thanks!): What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far?
Well, this is my second and there hasn't really been anything new this time around. But my first time, I was really surpirsed by how normal I felt right up until about 35 weeks. I don't know what I expected but I thought that I would be more clumsy and awkward and just always feel huge and pregnant. In reality though I feel normal until I try to do something crazy like bend over to tie my shoes.
Other than being exhausted, a lot of my symptoms have disappeared, or at least lessened up a lot. It actually has me a little nervous (but I do hear that's also a symptom Luckily, we have our second u/s next Monday so hopefully our unfounded fears will be put at ease.
Question of the Week: The QOTW comes from mtngrl2007 (thanks!): What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far?
That we have been able to hid the fact we are expecting from friends and family, especially with all the parties and gatherings the holidays hold. Crossing our fingers we can hold off until after the 12 week mark!!
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
Feeling good other then if I overdo it I am exhausted and itchy and really have issues sleeping. I always end up on my back and should be worried about this?? I have no idea I can't remember with my other 3 them telling me not to sleep on my back.

Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
Well, a week on my feet cooking and cleaning and entertaining hasn't done my rhoids any favors. Yowzers they hurt.
Baby seems to be head down (which is a great relief - I was 3rd generation breech), but he is still camping out on the right side of my belly. I spend every night laying on my left side trying to get him to slide down there and get him into a more optimal position for delivery.
My mom arrived for Thanksgiving loaded down with all these baby things that she had saved from when I was little, and even from her childhood. I was all teary looking at the wool carriage blanket that my great-grandfather's maiden sister knit for my mom when she was an infant. And the bib and blanket that my grandmother (who passed away while I was in high school) embroidered for me just pushed me over the edge.
Question of the Week: The QOTW comes from mtngrl2007 (thanks!): What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far?
Throughout I've been absolutely fascinated by the science of it all, which just shocks me b/c science has never been my strong suit. I'm the girl who took biology during the summer in college at an easier school to avoid bombing out of it at my college. But ever since this little guy was a blastocyte, he has been rocking my world and I've wanted to know as much as possible about his world.
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
This baby is moving SO MUCH. It has dropped and I am having lots of sharp shooting pains in my cervix. Getting up from a sitting position puts a lot of pressure there and it's uncomfortable.
Question of the Week: The QOTW comes from mtngrl2007 (thanks!): What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far?
That I drew the lucky straw in not having a lot of severe symptoms. All my weight is in my belly and I felt fairly mobile until a couple weeks ago. However, I have been surprised at the 3rd trimester insomnia symptom! No one told me about that. It's hard to go back to sleep in the middle of the night and I often get up for a couple of hours. It's so frustrating when people who have no idea about the insomnia are saying, haha get some sleep now before the baby comes. Grrrrrr! If only I could!

sex of baby (if known, or will it be a surprise?): Will know Dec. 7, if baby cooperates!
Feeling pretty good and starting to feel like I LOOK pregnant, not just chubby! Feeling baby move around a lot more often which DOES make it feel more real!
I usually suffer from pretty bad anxiety but I haven't been too anxious about this pregnancy. I hope to keep the zen throughout!!

its a girl!
Update: 34 weeks in, I feel like a waddling beachball. My back hurts, im sleeping for 10 hours a day.
Question of the Week What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far? um... being pregnant at all surprised me. it was not planned. we got over that, and are getting ready.
Had appt with OB today. Was started on insulin and feeling a tad bummed. Know it's what is best and will do everything for a healthy baby, just wish it didn't have to be. I also know its just for the pregnancy. Darn hormones!! Also have a migraine for the last 2 days. YAY!!
Thing that amazes me the most is the thought of another human life forming inside of me. The whole thing is just like WOW!! Just so amazed by every event/aspect of my pregnancy.
I have officially joined the GD club. Had additional ultrasounds baby is doing well and is of normal size. I'm still sleeping like Sleeping Beauty.
The Braxton Hicks have surprised me the most. I knew they would occur from the readings but didn't expect them at 18weeks. They have progressively gotten stronger and more painful. I hope this means I will have a quick labor.
Updates: How are you feeling? I am actually dealing with a cold right now...I don't like the thought of how this translates to my baby, but thankfully with rest, fluids, and complete boredom it seems to be subsiding.
Any events/news to share? Operation Nursery will begin in a week or so. We are having fun acclimating our dog to some of the larger baby items as early gifts are coming in. She is now okay with the infant car seat, but she is still uncertain about the stroller. I really want to take her for a walk around the block with the stroller to help her understand more about what it is. I think my DH would prefer to be invisible on the empty stroller walk - lol. I can't blame him, but I also don't want her running and hiding from everything.
New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared? The tachycardia is less frequent. A few more aches and pains at times, but we seem to be doing pretty well right now.
Question of the Week: The QOTW comes from mtngrl2007 (thanks!): What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far? Well, I don't have a previous pregnancy to compare it to...I am surprised at how much more painful the migraines are. I am also surprised at how most people are telling me I am still really small when I feel so huge. Finally, wow, we are almost third trimester - that seemed so far away back when we looked at the positive pregnancy test.
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
Still tired, getting m/s but not as frequent. The past weekend and today I've been having some back pain and some RLP. Got a few kicks to the cervix that were not very pleasant! They hurt and stopped me dead in my tracks. Waking up a lot peeing at night and just not sleeping well.
Question of the Week: The QOTW comes from mtngrl2007 (thanks!): What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far?
The aches and pains. Never knew what RLP was and wasn't expecting it. I had only heard of m/s and being tired when pregnant. Boy was I clueless !
Updates - overall doing well. I'm on week 4 of this cold though, and I have had enough! Nothing to suggest I need antibiotics again, it just won't go away. On a more positive note, DH and I had the day off today and we went and registered. That really does seem to make it feel more real!!
QOTW: I'm surprised that I'm still so worried about something going wrong. Not to the point of needing to see anyone, just still can't quite let myself believe this is really going to happen. I love that the baby has been kicking even more the past week or so. I like the reassurance that all is well in there!

Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
I'm feeling much better now that the asthma symptoms have subsided. I finished the prednisone and am no longer needing the breathing treatments, so that's pretty awesome! I am also able to lay down to sleep again! I can't believe how much I take something like that for granted until it is taken away! I will be on symbicort and singulair until the end of the pregnancy and then see how the asthma goes after that. I would never have imagined that I would be diagnosed with asthma this late in the game and during my seventh pregnancy. Weird!

I'm feeling fine. Mostly I'm falling asleep earlier than ever, still some mild cramping every now and then, sore boobs and chicken aversion. Other that, all is normal! I had an U/S last week, saw the HB, so I know baby is fine so I'm not TOO worried... but I will always be a worrywart.
Surprise? That I don't have M/S. I'm glad for it, but it is a surprise to me.
I'm feeling great overall. Still doing my acupuncture through 1st Tri. I am really tired, and constipated (ugh!).
Question of the Week: The QOTW comes from mtngrl2007 (thanks!): What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far?
I'm so surprised I haven't had any m/s! It started like clockwork at 6 weeks with dd. I'm thankful but of course it makes me worry at times. I'm sure I just jinxed myself though.Hi ladies! I've been MIA for quite some time as I've been SOO busy! But just wanted to check in!
Updates: Passed my GD test so I was very happy about that! A little worries that baby is due in 11 weeks and I have NOTHING ready for him!
Question of the Week: What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far? Hmm - that's a great question. . . I guess how little it has changed me so far??
Hi Ladies - hope everyone is doing great. I am not very consistent about checking in here; spend most of my time on the high-risk board.
Updates: My MFM is happy with the fact I'm still pregnant ; the contractions are getting stronger each week, but not changing my cervix. LO is breech so if he doesn't flip we'll schedule a c-section for 1/2/12 when I hit 39 weeks (assuming he doesn't decide to come any earlier).
Question of the Week: What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far?
The part where I got put on bed rest unexpectedly at 24w5d! That was a complete surprise as I'd been active and working the entire time and all my appointments had gone well. I had no idea pre-term labor was possible so that kind of turned pregnancy from a positive experience to how-in-the-world-are-we-going-to-do-this experience! The GOOD surprise is how much I love feeling LO move - it's the best part of pregnancy by far!
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
Thanksgiving started out a little scary. When I woke up, I went to the kitchen to get milk for DD. I felt like I wet myself. I went to check and it looked like the same stuff that came out when my water broke. Called the consulting nurse and they recommended that I go into the hospital to be sure it wasn't amniotic fluid. Stayed there for nearly 3 hours and after doing some tests, everything was all good. I guess it's "normal" to have all kinds of discharge with pregnancy #2. Still...
Thanksgiving was still a good time.
Question of the Week: The QOTW comes from mtngrl2007 (thanks!): What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far?
I think I'm not as paranoid as I was before. Even though I have to check my blood sugars twice a day (still in normal range), I still have a bit of dessert or pasta. And my belly feels so much bigger this time around

Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
We just found out that we were pregnant so everything is still new. My DH and son are both exciting and we are looking forward to the next 9 months.
Question of the Week: The QOTW comes from mtngrl2007 (thanks!): What part of pregnancy has surprised you the most so far? I am so tired... I don't remember being this tired. My son will be 14 in December and he is telling me it just has to do with my age.
Finally had my first Ob appointment! yes, I know....at 13weeks?! First there had been a billing issue we had gone rounds with from DS's birth and then there was almost a month wait to get in.
Anyway, all looks great. Measuring 13w4d which is pretty much what I had figured. Had a Ultra sound and heard the heart beat as well. We did schedule an early anatomy because we wanted to know the sex before Christmas since we're announcing the pregnancy CHrtistmas eve.
Despite the nausea and my growing belly, only now does it really seem real.
