Brown Spotting?

Anyone ever have this after O?  I've googled brown spotting in a gazillion different ways - and have gotten a gazillion different answers from old blood to cervical cancer.  I've never been a spotter before - so I was curious if anyone else was, what they attributed it to.

We are TTC #3, so I don't think it's necessarily a Preg symptom, as I have never had that with the others - but then again I know they are each different, with different symptoms.

    Could be a lot of different things.  Sometimes there can be a little bit of spotting from ovulation itself.  If you had sex, it could be some cervical irritation. It could be a bit of (rare) implantation spotting.  If it's not something that happens routinely, I wouldn't worry about it too much.  Just keep track of any spotting that you do have in case you start to notice trends or that it's happening very consistently.

    I think you answered your own question. There are tons of reasons for brown spotting.

    Started TTC 2/2009
    Started fertility treatments 11/2010
    Ovarian dysfunction, LPD, male factor
    6 failed medicated IUI's
    Pregnant 5/2011 - Miscarriage at 6 weeks due to triploidy
    Decided to adopt - 6/2012
    SURPRISE! Pregnant without intervention - 7/2012 
    Sweet Baby James Born 3/2013
    Decided to be "One and Done"

    ....OR NOT.
    Pregnant 12/2018 despite birth control pills
    Here we go again...
    Due 8/26/19!

    I've had some brown spotting now and then but it turned out to be nothing. I had it checked out and my obgyn didn't find anything. I agree with keeping track of it and if it's a reoccurring problem, get it checked out.

    I have brown spotting every month about 3 days after O all the way until AF. I know it can sometimes be low progesterone or a luteal phase defect, although some women are just spotters and it's nothing. I'm going to see an OB about it at the beginning of the new year, so if I get any additional helpful information, I will post it.

    Thanks!  I am seeing my OB in Dec for my annunal anyway - so I will mention it then.  I don't typically spot, ever - so that's why I asked.

    Since we started TTC 8 months ago i have spotted brown every month but 4 and 6. It usually starts very light 6 days prior to AF and continues to get darker (brown). Good luck.
