TTC after 35

Newcomer questions ...

I am TTC after 34...although my age is a year shy for this board, I am just coming off of a pregnancy loss so I am fearful that I won't be blessed with another healthy pregnancy.

I am writing to ask if anyone knows about homeopathic/natural living type things to try pre-conception to either improve sperm quality or otherwise reduce the risk of miscarriage. If you can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks.

  • I'm very sorry for your loss.

Lots of people use acupuncture for help with TTC, and then continuing into the first few weeks of pregnancy "to increase your chi" (as my Chinese doc puts it) and help prevent early miscarriage.  So that's one suggestion.

There are also supplements that claim to boost fertility generally -- Fertilaid is a popular one (there are versions for men and women).  Some women take CoQ10 and DHEA to increase egg quality -- I wouldn't take the latter without consulting an RE and getting suggested dosage info from him/her, though, as it's a hormone.

People on the TTC After a Loss board might have additional suggestions.  You are of course welcome to post here, too.  Best of luck to you.

  • Hello and welcome to the board. I'm sorry for you loss.

My suggestions: Acupuncture is supposed to help - both men and women, but who knows. Our doctor also suggested fertility blend vitamins for men for my husband to improve sperm motility.

  • Welcome and good luck!
