I hope you do get your take home baby one day...I just wish you would refer to a miracle as something a little more special!
This is incredibly stupid. We aren't calling our phantom babies anything crass; we're calling the physical state of being pregnant by a silly nickname. And also, a baby is not a miracle. A miracle is something that happens outside of the realm of physical possibility. Babies are wonderful and incredible and a huge blessing, but not a miracle. Maybe I should start a thread about how much it totes bugs me when peeps use the word "miracle" to refer to something that isn't, hm?
And my girl crush on you grows a little more each day, BV!

For ALOT of women out there a baby IS a miracle! Some can't get pregnant and for other getting pregnant is going to be a very hard journey! A miracle is a highly improbable or extraordinary event, development, or accomplishment. Hmmmmmm....so pregnancy can be a mircale after all!

Ok here's a number then............around 12% of women 15-44 have trouble either getting pregnant or carrying a pregnancy.
Did you lurk at all on this board before rowing over here in your douchcanoe to C&P and spew random tidbits of knowledge all over the place? Some of the women on this board have been TTC for years, have suffered multiple losses, and have been diagnosed with a whole host of things that make having a child difficult. They know all the stats, they've read all the literature, they know what they are doing. The little acronyms that you find so distasteful are just a way of injecting some humor into a process that is riddled with pain, disappointment, and frustration. If you would have spent some time getting to know the girls of this board, you would know that the things you post about just make you look like a twat who doesn't care about the people on this board, or the board itself. Stop trying to defend yourself. You are just digging a deeper hole.

However, I don't agree with what you are implying....I too had a m/c, and was completely devastated by it....BUT I don't think that women who use the term "knocked up" or "KTFU!" are in any way showing that they don't value their pregnancy.
When I was pregnant I used the term knocked up (with a huge smile on my face), and I can tell you that the moment I found out the baby had died I would have cut off my own arm to change that. I loved that baby and had been thrilled to be pregnant (or "KU").
I know that you are hurting, and I know that I still find things that women who are pregnant say irritating because I am still comparing everything to my own loss (ex: Pregnant woman: "OMG, I am so tired of being pregnant! Ugh! I just want this baby to come out!" Me: "STFU and be glad you are pregnant."), and I think that this is what is happening here.
It's okay to vent (I do too), but I think in this case you are off the mark as many woman who have been through hell and back to try and get KU will definitely value their pregnancies as much as you.
I hope that you get your take home baby soon.

I for one think a group of grown woman using the term baby dace in lieu of sex is absolutely ridicules but I?m not going to make a federal case against. There is a diffrence between online talk and IRL. I can see how saying I am knocked up might seem crass, but I also agree with PP being pregnant would be such a blessing how I will refer to it is the last thing am going to worry about.

Ugh, you're annoying. For many women, a pregnancy is a miracle, yes. However, for the general population - or 88% according to some random fact you threw out there - it's simply a natural process. There are women who will never have a child, or who will have to go to great lengths to have one, against huge odds. For them, a baby could be considered a miracle. But I agree with BV - for most people, a baby is simply a wonderful addition to the life cycle.

I'm late to the party and it might have already been discussed but oh well.
I'm infertile by definition but it would not be a miracle for my and MH to become pregnant. It would be a miracle for a woman to become pregnant if she didn't have tubes or ovaries or her H didn't have any sperm. The chances might be slight but not impossible. So the miraculous thing is not exactly true BUT I still understand the sentiment.
And I think the terms KU and KTFU are annoying but someone's choice of language or acronym does not indicate the level they appreciate or don't appreciate a pregnancy. There will likely be a few 4 letter words that come from my household if I ever become pregnant out of sheer shock but our "inappropriate" language does not make me less appreciative than someone else.

It is a miracle to get KTFU as a virgin. It is not a miracle to get KTFU when you are trying to get sperm to meet egg. It is science.
