I like old lady names. And while I really don't care what other people think, I hate that we might name our little girl something that everyone will have a sour reaction to because it just doesn't seem appropriate for a little one. Are there any old fashioned names that you think are TOO old?
My fave is Edith (nn Edie) - I know that dixee.deluxe's DD is named this - and while I don't think Edith is too old, I wonder about some of the other names on my list.
DH's current favorite is Pearl. While it's growing on me, I just don't know that I can picture a little girl named Pearl, haha. Thoughts?
Re: Old lady names... how old is too old?
I love the landlord video! I actually think that is part of the reason DH likes Pearl...!
I love old lady names, but I definitely think some are better left in the past. Like Gertrude or Edna. Not because they're too old, I just don't think they're pretty names.
I like Pearl, I think it would be cute on a little girl.

LOL I was going to say Gertrude is too old. My grandma- born in 1911- her name was Gertrude. She went by Carmen however which is much prettier.
Thanks for all the responses ladies! I am definitely liking Pearl more for a mn.
I brought up Olive to DH and he didn't immediately say no, so that's a start, haha. Every time I hear Astrid all I can think of is that episode of the Office where Michael keeps saying Ass-turd! Totally ruins it for me! Love Agnes, Vivian, Ruth, and Alice. Unfortunately DH has vetoed mostly all of those!
I don't love Pearl, but I don't think it sounds any more old ladyish than other names that are popular right now.
I actually knew a girl named Pearl when I was young.
