Hi BFing Mommas - I have a Medela Pump in Style, and when I pump, quite a bit of milk gets into the tubing. Is this normal? I know that "condensation" is expected, but I don't know if droplets of milk in the tubes is normal.
Has anyone else experienced this? Or could I possibly have a defective pump?
Re: Medela Question: Milk in the Tubing?
Ah... I do tend to lean forward, so I will try to have better posture and see if that makes a difference. Thanks!
Do you mean just pour the alcohol through? Or put alcohol in the tubing and attach to the pump so it can get into the motor as well?
Thanks for the suggestion!
My LC told me to use a syringe to pump it through - I had gotten a few from the hospital to help me feed LO pumped colostrum. I pumped a few syringes full of alcohol into the tubes, then pumped a few more syringes of air to push the alcohol all the way through the tubes. Then I plugged in the tubes to the pump and let the pump run on high for a couple hours to dry out the tubes.
