what do you dress LO in outside in the sling/carrier?

When we go out in the stroller, I put her in an extra sweater, 2 blankets, the stroller cover and the plastic wind shield. (it can get pretty cold here - there has been frost and snow)

So she cant wear that many layers - it just isnt possible and I cant cover her in blankets in the carrier, can I?

how do you do it?

I just put on her hat and cover her with a blanket, but she's usually only outside for a minute between the car and wherever we're going.

I have a Bundle Me in the car seat and it is wonderful. I can dress LO in his normal clothes and just put a hat on him and he's fine. As the weather gets colder, I'll probably put an extra layer on him, but with the Bundle Me, no blankets are needed. Babies R' Us sells them.

Keep in mind that in a sling or carrier they are right up against your body so they will be getting body heat from you as well. I haven't tried it yet, but I think I'd also try to do up LO inside my jacket in the moby.

I have seen people do this but my jacket woulndt fit my bump, so I dont think she will fit - experimenting today

We normally aren't outside long enough. But I did have to go outside with him in the sling yesterday to load some stuff in the truck to head to the IL's. I had him in these super fuzzy warm PJ's with footies on them. It hasn't been too cold here though. It was like 50 or 60 outside. I didn't even have a jacket on.

Same story here though I do have a rally big zip up sweatshirt I use over both of us some days.

DH and I both have heavy sweatshirts large enough to zip up over the baby in the carrier. That combined with our body heat is usually enough. Although, if you're using something like a moby, you may not even need to zip over the baby. Those things get insanely warm.

This. We don't have a car so we're outside for a few hours at a time. I took LO shopping the other day when it was in the 50's and she had on a short-sleeve undershirt, onesie, hooded sweater, leggings and socks. By the time we finished shopping she was soaked in sweat and so was I. I had to change her clothes before coming home.

Having said tthat, I've seen special down blankets that go over baby carriers. That would be useful in snowy weather.

When I take LO out in the Moby wrap, I dress her in a long or short sleeve onesie depending on how cold it is, a sleep n play, and a warm hat. She's right next to my body and has 3 layers of fabric from the Moby, and she always stays cozy. If it's really windy, I put on one of SO's jackets and zip it around both of us.
