Fighting bottles

I thought she was fine taking a bottle. Now, she seems to really fight them. At least when H gives them to her. I gave her a bottle in church this week and she took it without screaming.  LO had a rough night last night so H offered to give her a bottle this morning so I could sleep more. However, I can't sleep when she is screaming. :(

Any suggestions on things to try. I am going back to work so she will need to take bottles.

Re: Fighting bottles

  • It might be a struggle for awhile, but she'll get on board when she has to.  My 4 year old hated the bottle while I was still on maternity leave. I'd even have to leave the house to get him to take one from my H (he just knew I was still in the house and could nurse him, even if I was far away from the nursery).  I was stressed about it, but he got on board just in time, a few days before I went back to work.  Just keep trying, and don't pump to replace the feeding until after baby takes the bottle because you might eventually have to nurse baby if she really refuses the bottle.
