What is baby oil used for?

I'm curious. I haven't gotten any yet but am wondering if I should even bother buying it.

I think at one point it was used as a diaper treatment or a lotion, but I was told by a nurse not to use it at all because it clogs baby's pores. My mother never used it on me or my sisters.

I never used it.

The nurses all told me it's best not to put any of that kind of stuff on them. Plus once you do, becomes harder not to because their skin adapts to it.

I use it on my legs during the summer months to help get sun on them & to look sexy. I have never used it on DS & don't plan on using it with this LO.

I will say that Cameron is SO flipping cute!! Look at all that hair!

When I worked as a nursing assistant, we'd use it to wipe up a really sticky bowel movement & it worked really well for that. It'd probably be nice to put in bath water, too.

I've seen online people mixing a few drops of it in warm water with a pump of baby wash for a homemade wipe solution for those using non-disposable wipes. Is this a bad thing? I was planning on doing this.

I used it on my kids' cradle cap. I used after every bath with DS cause no matter what soap I used ( I tired everything under the sun) his scalp would get super dry and flaky. So my pedi recommended just to put a few drops on his head to help keep it moisturized. And I used it to get all the goo from the surgical tape off of me.

My mom said she used it on me for craddle cap when I was a baby. Other than that I don't think there's aything else you can use it for. Besides yourself in the summer.

I know you can mix it with flour to make play-doh for kids. Other than that, I think it's pretty pointless.

Other than oil for sheep sheers since it doesn't discolor the wool when sheering... I've still yet to answer that question...

LOL I was gonna say I use it in my horses Show Sheen to make them extra shiny and soft. Glad I'm not the only one whose mind is on livestock.

I never used it with DD, but I use it for myself in the shower! Keeps my skin nice and moisturized, especially during the colder months of the year!

This is what i was told as well.. Since I am a FTM, I have it on hand in case I need it!
