Long Holiday Weekend Plans?

I am soooo looking forward to my 4 day weekend!!  What's everyone up to?

Tonight: Going to our BFFs house for dinner.  We get together every year the night before Thanksgiving to do "Champagne and Pajama's".  BFF is making tacos and we're bringing champagne and cake b/c it's also DH's birthday!  The kids will play and we'll just hang out.

Thanksgiving: Making squash and spending time with the family.  DH will get the Christmas tree and decorations out.  Going to the ILs for dinner.  DH & Stella will go to the hockey game after dinner leaving me with a nice quiet house and some QT with Audrey.

Friday: I think DH is going hunting in the morning.  l'll put the Christmas tree up while he's gone, then he will do the lights and we'll decorate it together while watching "Elf", our tradition.

Saturday: Out to breakfast (if the girls are up).  I'm not sure if DH will be hunting.  Laundry and cleaning the house.  DH will take Stella to the hockey game at night.

Sunday: No plans, probably grocery shopping.  Football, cheeseburger soup, and relaxing with my family.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and weekend!

  • Today: running errands while DH has a drs appt. Then heading home for the family viewing and maybe dinner at my parent's afterward. Thursday: going to Dh's grandma's, MIL's, and then my parents for dinners. Friday: Back home for the calling hours from 2-4, and 6-8. I think we'll end up staying at home after that. My MIL and SIL are watching Jules so I don't have to worry about her. Sat: Funeral at 11, interment following, and a luncheon after that. Sun: Maybe going to get a tree, or very likely just doing nothing after the last few days. DH has track meets starting next weekend though so we need to get a tree at some point. Who's jealous of my long weekend? Ugh. I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving!

  • Thanksgiving- Spending the day split between my FIL/SMIL and MIL/SFIL and hoping that DH's pet allergies don't act up too much to ruin the rest of our weekend.  He insists on going to their houses.

Friday to Sunday - SESAME PLACE!  And hopefully IKEA.  Can't wait.  We have never been, but both kids are obsessed and they are doing a Christmas thing this year starting this weekend.

    Enjoy your weekends everyone!

  • Tonight: Heading to Watertown after work. That will be our evening.

Tomorrow: Turkey Trot in the AM. First time I'll be doing a 5K without needing to walk any of it. Very excited and nervous at the same time. Hanging out with FIL's family, then heading to DH's aunt's house for dinner (mom's side of the family).

Friday: No real plans, just visiting with family. Maybe out to breakfast at our favorite place in Sackets?

    Saturday: Once again, no real plans. Sometimes I wonder why we are there for so long, but I do it for DH's benefit. {sigh}

Sunday: Heading home. Hopefully sooner rather than later so that I have some time to get things ready to head back to work on Monday and just relax.

  • Blah, I am looking forward to this week being over. I am so tired already.

Tonight after work I need to make sure I have everything for meals and do as much preparing I can once she goes to bed.

Thurs - thanksgiving at my parents

Fri - meeting with out of town relatives for breakfast.  josh works 5-3 and I work 11-9. So nothing is going to get done Friday. Unless I don't get much sleep.

Sat - josh works 6-2 and we are hosting at 3pm. Any guesses on when the in-laws actually show up? I am guessing 5pm. But so sat I will be alone with dd to cook and clean.

Sun - church then nothing! Melissa and Sandi - r u guys thinking of doing snmop? Maybe Ellie and I will crash and join you?

  • Tonight: Baking, cleaning and then hopefully relaxing! My dad is coming this afternoon so I have to run to the store for a few last-minute items when he gets here.

T-Day: We are hosting. Just us, my dad, my aunt, and my uncle. One of DH's colleagues and her husband may stop by, as well as a friend of ours whose fiance is working. I plan to drink a lot of wine- we bought some yummy cranberry wine when we were in the Finger Lakes!

Friday: DH and I are considering heading out to do some shopping, since my dad will be here. Probably TRU, and maybe some clothing stores b/c DH really needs new suits now that he has dropped two full sizes!

Saturday: Hopefully getting the lights up outside in the a.m. We had to replace most of them so we didn't get them all up last weekend. Then we have a birthday party for my cousin's son up in Queensbury.

Sunday: Going to get our tree! We always go to a farm and cut it down ourselves. They also have Santa, some reindeer, a horse-drawn wagon, and a cafe for snacks/hot cocoa, etc. Can't wait! We will get the tree up and let it settle, then maybe try to get the lights on that night. We'll probably do the ornaments on Monday.
