Do you do an Advent Calender with LO? Homemade or store bought? I see the ones with chocolates, if you did this one would you allow them to eat the chocolate first thing in the am or make them save it?
My mom has a cool cloth one that fits tiny toys inside. She has had it for years, but that is the type I would want. Last year she was too little but this year I haven't seen any I like. Personally if I was doing the chocolate one I would do it in the
Morning but that is more just bc I always get dd up and some nights I'm not home bc of work.
I haven't done an advent calendar for Alex yet. We did candy ones for Mike last year and the year before. (I bought one shaped like a tree at Walgreens a few years ago with little drawers. It came with candy coins in it and I refilled it last year with hershey kisses. We opened it after dinner each night.
This year, Mike is obsessed with both Legos and Star Wars, so I bought him a Lego Star Wars advent calendar. I'm probably going to put something in the tree with drawers for Alex, but I'm worried that Mike will want candy too.
My SIL has a really cool advent calendar she made for my niece. There is twine that hangs like a closeline with cool envelope things for each day that she made out of scrapbook paper. (My SIL has mad scrapbooking talent.) Each year she place a slip of paper in each day that niece opens and reads in the morning. The papers have activities on them that they will do that day. Things like family game night, drive around looking at lights, order pizza, stay up 30 minutes late, go to the movies. She just plans the things out on her calendar first and then write them up and stuffs the envelopes.
we have the chocoloate one too.. But we did it before bed.. I just realized that that really isn't much better than first thing in the AM, as I was typing it.. LOL.

Wegmans has a fabric one if you are interested in a non-candy one. Or you could put candy in it, either way. It looks like a christmas tree for $15. I happened to see it tonight when I had to stop in and pick up a couple things for thanksgiving. I can text you a picture of it if you want tomorrow, let me know.
Eva has a ton of Christmas books so I am taking 24 of them and wrapping them so she can open one each day for us to read.
We have a countdown to Christmas magnetic cookie sheet that my mom got at HAllmark last year and I also made an activity one last year that we'll use again. I used a muffin tin to make it- here's a blog post about both of them:
